- ½ cup sour cream – or plain Greek yogurt
- 1 (10.75-ounce) can condensed cheddar cheese soup – or cream of chicken soup

> Remove the lid of the crock pot to allow for some liquid to evaporate
> Add in more cheese
> Cornstarch slurry. in a separate bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of COLD water with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. Stir it into the Mac and Cheese and the dish will thicken as it continues to cook.
When there are about 30 minutes left in the cooking time, add in some of these suggestions:
– cooked bacon bits, diced cooked ham, grilled chicken, or cooked hamburger
– parmesan cheese
– broccoli or roasted red peppers
– garlic powder, dry mustard, onion powder, red pepper flakes, or paprika
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
Reheat. The key is to reheat slowly on low heat. Adding in a bit more milk can help smooth out the texture. You can reheat in the slow cooker, covered in the oven, stovetop, or microwave.
This pasta dish can be frozen for 2-3 months. When you’re ready to use, thaw it in the fridge and reheat slowly over low heat.
Looks delicious! I’m attempting to tweak for GF and need a substitute for the condensed soup, any suggestions? Thanks!
I have Cream Soup Substitute recipe that you could try. Instead of using all purpose flour the make the roux, you can replace it with a Gluten-free baking flour, or a blend of rice flour and tapioca. If you try this, I would to hear what you did and how the cream soup substitute turned out as well as this Mac n Cheese recipe.
First time making this. I took it to a Kentucky Derby party and it was devoured. I got so many compliments. Didn’t add the salt or pepper.
Thank you
Woohoo! Glad it was a hit! Thank you!
I’m looking forward to making this for thanksgiving this year!
Question – if you leave the crockpot on warm for an hour or two after cooking on low for 2 hours, will the pasta get mushy? Thanks!
If I make this a day ahead of time will it keep okay? Or should I wait to bake it the next day?
Yes, you could. The key is to reheat slowly on low heat. Adding in a bit more milk can help smooth out the texture too. You can reheat in the slow cooker, covered in the oven, stovetop, or microwave.
My “go to” mac and cheese recipe. My family loves it and I recenty made 6x the recipe for a potluck and it came out just as good, everyone loved it! So easy to make and delicious too
It was super easy to put together and let the crockpot do all the work.
This mac and cheese was everything that I wanted it to be and more! thank you so much for sharing this amazing!
My kids love this mac and cheese! It is perfect for our sports night and having the kids grab dinner all night long. It is their favorite meal!
My go-to recipe for busy weeknights! So easy yet incredibly delicious 😋
Smoothest homemade Mac and cheese I’ve ever made! So that was a win. But mine was very salty. I might not add any salt at all next time. Any suggestions to save a dish that’s too salty?
You can definitely reduce the salt next time. Sometimes adding a splash of something acidic can help…. a squirt of lemon juice or even a tomato product like ketchup or salsa can help it not seem to salty.
Cut a small potato in half and put it in with your mac and cheese because it absorbs some of the saltiness
Can I use plain yogurt instead of sour cream?
My husband and brother-in-law told me this was the best mac & cheese they ever ate! And they both told me at different times, independent of one another, so this is definitely an keeper. It is so easy to make, which is a super bonus!
Oh I’m so glad to hear that!! Thanks for sharing!
This is my go to Mac recipe. Love the crockpot version, but just as yummy to make on the stovetop in a hurry! ♥️
Such a really comforting meal! My family really enjoyed it! Thanks for the recipe!
One of the easiest mac and cheese recipe I’ve tried! It’s kids’ approved. Super delicious, simple yet satisfying!
We couldn’t love this any more. Mt son jsut requested it for his birthday dinner lol! We are definitely making it again.
Yay! So glad this recipe is a hit with your family. Happy birthday to your son!
Made for a family gather. Turned out great. Everyone loved it. I used an immersion blender to smooth out all the ingredients. Was super smooth. Will be making again.
I’m so glad to hear the mac and cheese was a hit! Thanks for giving it a try.
Can you make this a day or two ahead of time and just bake it when you’re ready?
HELLO !! I made the mac-n-cheese for Thanksgiving dinner. It was my side for the kids. Well, the adults loved loved loved it ALSO. Amazing thing is I haven’t made mac-n-cheese for 30 years & that came from a box 🙂 I didn’t have a very good grater so that took me longer ! I used the small elbow noodles from Trader Joe’s. I believe what ever size or style pasta used would be DEEEEELISH 😋 TY Steve
Oh I’m so happy to hear that the mac and cheese was a hit!!
So good! My college-age daughter went nuts over this. Will definitely be adding this to my list of staples! Thanks you for the recipe.
You’re welcome! So glad to hear she enjoyed the recipe!
I made this for a class of 6th graders who all gave it 5 stars! All the adults did as well! I will never make Mac n Cheese any other way!
I made this for a family function and the family loved it❣️❣️
They’ve asked me to make it again for another family gathering.
I think this will be the item I’ll be required to bring from now on! 😉
What can I use to substitute the cheddar soup? Couldn’t find it!
You could use another condensed soup that you enjoy. Cream of chicken perhaps.
Did a huge batch (x10 the recipe) for a graduation party of 100 people. Cooked it in a large roasting pan and it was a hit! I cut the salt in half since condensed soup mix is ultra salty and I’m glad I did….it probably could’ve gone without any salt added at all. This is much easy and holds up better with a better texture than making a traditional cheese base using a roux. Melting the cheese slowly is key to a smooth texture and slowly add milk to not chill the cheese sauce down too much. Look forward to making again in a normal batch size. That was a lot of cheese to shred!
Do you have any other options for the cream of cheddar soup?
You could do a different condensed soup… like cream of chicken. It would alter the flavor of the Mac and cheese alittle but should still taste yummy. You’ll have to let us know how you like it if you try it with a substitute soup.
I was wondering with your crock pot Mac and cheese, can I put macaroni in the crock pot uncooked? I’ve tried a recipe that you could and it came out amazing. Your recipe sounds even better, I just don’t wan to cook macaroni ahead of time. It seems to take the most time.
So creamy, delicious, and so easy to make!! A family 5 star recipe for sure!!! Thanks so much!!
You changes the ingredients? Where can I find the old one? With the sour cream and cheddar cheese soup? It’s even in the beginning description?
So sorry about that! We had a little mess up on the back end but the recipe is back. 😉
Yes! Thank you! This is so good! I make it all the time for large gatherings and always a hit with both grown ups and kids!
I love Crock Pot recipes since they work well with my busy schedule. And it’s even better when my kids like the recipe too! This Crock Pot Mac N Cheese is a keeper. My family loved it!
I survive the fall and busy days by using my crock pot. This is a kid favorite! So creamy.
This is such a tasty mac and cheese recipe and I love that I can cook it and keep it warmed in the slow cooker. Perfect for our family dinners!
My whole family loves this mac and cheese! It’s creamy and cheesy and has a great blend of flavors. I also love that I can make it a couple of hours beforehand and let it sit until dinner.
Wondering if this could be doubled to feed a large group?
I see my question was already answered-thanks! Making this for a family gathering soon.
What size crockpot would you use? I was thinking 4 quarts? I’m trying to plan out all my thanksgiving appliances I’m going to use 😂
I was looking for easy foods that can feed lots, is easy to make & all kids love! This is going to be it
I didn’t see where it says how many this will feed ?
~Thanks for sharing!!
I’ve made a lot of your recipes exactly like written, everyone raved about how good they are.
Amazing. Creamy. Everyone loves this in our household
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! This mac and cheese is definitely a fav at our house!
Made this for the family and it was a HUGE hit. I added smoked paprika and minced garlic. Thanks for the recipe.
You’re welcome!! Thanks for sharing what you did. I’m glad the Mac and cheese was a hit!
One of my favorite Mac and cheese recipes! So easy and so yummy!!
Tastes great!
I bring this to almost every family get together! For the picky kids, this dish is always a hit!
This recipe is so easy and something I always have the ingredients in the house for. It makes a good amount and doesn’t take too long to throw together or to cook. Plus it’s super cheesy and yummy!
We LOVE this recipe! We’ve made it several time and it’s always a hit! Thank you!
Absolutely delicious and easy! Started it on my lunch break and came home to a great meal!
Love this mac and cheese! It’s a family favorite to bring to all holidays!
Love how quick and easy this recipe is! Not to mention my kids gobble it up. Thank you!
Love this recipe! It’s simple yet so good!
My stove is broken so I was excited to find this recipe. my family loved it! Amazing!!
So I’ve made this many times. I usually prepare as directed, then dump into a casserole dish and top with butter breadcrumbs, then bake at 350° for 40 minutes or so. It’s perfect! Today, I’ve added shredded chicken and green onions. It smells amazing! I also usually add a pinch of ground mustard and a pinch of nutmeg, it really makes it pop.
Thanks for sharing what you did!! Sounds delicious! Glad you enjoy the recipe. 🙂
Awesome very easy recipe great taste. Only downfall is nothing
Aw, thank you!! So glad to hear that you love the recipe!
Very easy to make and delicious!!! Def will make again!!!
This has been my favorite Mac & cheese recipe for several years now!! Everyone loves it, I’ve passed it onto more people than I could countNn
I am going to attempt to make it with gluten-free pasta tomorrow night.. any suggestions? I don’t want the pasta to turn to mush, so I was thinking I’d probably only cook it halfway through.
Yay!! I’m so glad you love the Mac and cheese. It’s a favorite here too, for sure. I imagine you have already made the dish with gluten-free pasta. I’d be curious to hear how it turned out/what you did? Yeah, I would suggest to keep an eye on those noodles so it doesn’t cook too long.
So smooth, creamy & tasty! Another absolutely delicious recipe and the best homemade Mac & Cheese I have tried to date. I followed the recipe as is using sharp cheddar I grated/shredded myself, but also served it with fresh grated/shredded parmesan on top as mentioned in your add ins note. So many scrumptious possibilities for additional add ins, varying cheeses etc. and you noted some of my favs, lol, I will have to try some bacon or ham in it next time 😋
From my family to yours, thanks so much for sharing your time & talents in the kitchen. Your recipes are always the best!
Thank you so much for your kind words! They mean so much. I’m so glad that the recipe was a hit for your family. And yes, some of those add-ins and adaptations are a fun way to switch up the recipe. Thanks for giving the recipe a try!
Absolutely loved this recipe. Delicious Mac n cheese. Definitely don’t cook it for more than 2 hours and don’t use shredded cheese.
Thank you!! So glad that you enjoyed the recipe!
Hey there I’m looking to make this for a crowd of 20+ can you double this recipe
Thank you
You can! It may take a bit longer to heat up in your crockpot since it will be more full. Depending on the size of your crockpot, you may need to do each batch in a separate crockpot.
He6 there 8m looking to make this fir a crowd of 20+ can you double this recipe
Thank you
Literally THE best mac and cheese ever! My husband (whom will only eat Kraft!!!.. yes Kraft) LOOOOOOVED it. I only had 2 cups of cheddar so I added .5 of colby jack to it. I cooked mine for 2.5 hours and it was perfect!
Oh that makes me SO happy to hear! I bet the Colby Jack was great in it. So glad your hubby was a fan, too. Thanks for sharing!!
This was awesome!! I needed a quick mac and cheese recipe to take to small gathering yesterday. This literally took less than 5 minutes to throw together after I boiled the noodles. I was skeptical about the can of cream of cheese soup. My go-to recipe for macaroni and cheese is to make a white sauce on the top of the stove and then add the cheese, boil the macaroni mix it together and then bake it in the oven. I’m going to try this recipe again but put it in the oven and bake it with my usual bread crumbs on the top and I think it’s going to be delicious!
So glad to hear that you enjoyed the recipe!! I’m sure you could bake and top with bread crumbs and it would be fabulous! You’ll have to let us know how it turns out.
Made this for my grandkids, they really loved it. Will be making it again!!
I love All your recipes!
Thank you SO much! I’m so happy to hear the recipe was a hit with your grandkids!
Can you double this recipe?
You bet! It may take a little longer to heat all the way through in the crockpot being doubled, but should still taste the very same!
First time making this and it was very good 😋
Yay! I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed it!
I made this for Easter and it was a hit!
I’m so glad everyone liked it!
What size crock pot if I double the recipe? Anxious to make for my family for Easter!
I would use a 10 quart crockpot if you double this recipe. I hope you have a fabulous Easter!
If I double the recipe, what size crockpot should I use? I’m anxious to make for Easter!
This was a fun base recipe. I tweaked some things. Used smoked gouda, sharp cheddar and mozzarella. I also used half milk half heavy cream (adding a fourth cup more then the recipe because it seems a bit dry when it’s done cooking). And added in some sauteed kielbasa sausage to round out the meal. I also added some dry mustard and a little cayenne too for some heat. It’s a good macaroni and cheese that my kids absolutely love!
All of those additions and tweaks sounds amazing! A gourmet mac and cheese for sure! I’m so glad your kids enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing!
What size crockpot did you use for this amount? Have you ever doubled the recipe? I’m wondering if I can make a bigger batch for a crowd. 😊
I used a 6-quart crockpot for this recipe. I haven’t doubled the recipe before so I’m not sure if there would be enough room in the crockpot. You should have room if you make 1 1/2 times the recipe though. Hope this helps!
I use a little extra butter & cheese and it’s to die for! So easy & good!
Can’t go wrong with that! Thank you!
Made with cream of chicken soup as I never have cheddar cheese soup on hand? I also added a splash of Worcestershire sauce because I love it with cheesy dishes.
I think the crock pot is totally not needed. One could eat it right away once the noodles (I fully cook them and drain) are mixed with the melted cheese sauce. I placed it in a baking dish, sprinkled seasoned bread crumbs on top, and broiled uncovered for 15 minutes. I have also made this using a 16 oz package of gnocchi instead of the noodles with awesome results! A favorite add-in is a small can of Rotel (drained). A little Bleu cheese adds a delicious twist too!
That all sounds great! Thank you for sharing what you did!
Super easy added NM Hatch green chile for spice!
My picky kiddos absolutely love this mac and cheese and it’s so easy to make! Already planning to make it for a Comfort Food New Years Eve night!
This recipe is a family favorite! My kids request this Mac and cheese weekly. The cheese turns out perfectly. The flavor is delicious.
Mine do also! Thank you for sharing that!
I LOVE this mac n cheese!!! It has everything I’m looking for. I have even found that I can cook it on the stovetop very quickly also (mix sauce together, boil noodles, then add to sauce, serve). I love it as a side to sloppy joes (or even in it)!
My kids loved this for Thanksgiving! My son told me it was his new favorite Mac and cheese. In the crockpot, even better
Macaroni and cheese is a favorite and this recipe does not disappoint! Amazing and so creamy!
Can I get everything ready ahead of time and then just turn the crockpot on
You sure could 🙂
Has anyone ever cooked this on high? If so, for how long and what was the result? Any good? This is my hands down, favorite go-to Mac and cheese and I want to make it at the beach but don’t want to have to wait so long once we get home. Thanks!
I haven’t tried it on high, but you could! You’d just want to keep an eye on it so it doesn’t burn. Essentially, everything in this dish is already cooked, it just needs to warm through together. So you could essentially even make it over the stovetop. After melting the cheese and the cooking the noodles, combine over the stovetop until heated through. If you do it on high, maybe check it after 1 hour and determine if it is ready.
Can you use 1% milk, 1/2 & 1/2 or heavy cream?
I’ve added 1% & it’s fine 🙂 I haven’t tried the other two.
I don’t normally leave reviews but this was delicious ! Over the last few years I have been trying to find the perfect Mac n cheese crockpot recipe and I finally hit the jackpot ! About halfway through I added a little more cooked pasta b/c it seemed a little to soupy for my taste and it worked out perfect. I also added a small amount of onion , but otherwise followed the recipe. IT WAS SO GOOD ! I was nervous about trying a new recipe on Thanksgiving day but this was the most popular dish. Thank you !!
Awe, I am so glad you decided to try it & happier you liked it! Thank you so much for sharing that!
I am making this soon. How much extra cooked noodles did you end up adding?
Thanks!
I cant find the soup what can i substitute for
I haven’t tried substituting the soup, but I would see what google suggests. I don’t want to say the wrong thing, since I haven’t tried.
Cream of chicken, mushroom or celery work great!
I’ve used Condensed Cheddar Cheese Broccoli Soup
What kind of grated cheese should I use? Can I used the shredded cheddar that comes in a bag or should I get a lock and shred .. would it make a difference either way? Thanks!
I use bagged & I have bought a block of cheddar & shredded it. I like to use fresh cheese for pastas, but both are great 🙂
Can plain Greek yogurt be substituted for sour cream?
You sure could 🙂
I’m going to be making this for thanksgiving. I am wondering what kind of cheddar cheese to use. Sharp, white, extra sharp, mild? Also can you use half evaporated milk and half whole milk? I heard evaporated milk gives a much richer flavor?
I like to use sharp or medium cheddar, but really it’s a personal preference 🙂 I haven’t tried using the half evaporated milk. But, if it gives a richer flavor..I’d say it’s worth a try 🙂
I just was worried about what kind of cheeses to use. I have made homemade Mac and cheese once with a Pinterest recipe and it turned out a disaster. It was super grainy. So I wanted to make sure I use the right kind of cheese. With the 4 TBLS of butter is that just unsalted block butter?
No problem 🙂 I like to use unsalted, that way I can control the salt.
I haven’t made it yet. Hoping to do so today! But if I use 1 whole box of elbow macaroni, do I double the rest of the ingredients? I’m not sure how much to use if I make a whole box?
I would probably double the rest of the ingredients. I would say a 1lb box is about 4 cups of dry macaroni.
will sharp cheddar cheese make this too tangy?
I don’t think so. Just a personal preference 🙂
I was kinda bummed about two things, the texture wasn’t as creamy as I was expecting, it was a little grainy. Also it didn’t make very much, definitely double the batch if you’re feeling more than 5.
Hello! I just made this and was looking creamy but after 2 hours in the crockpot (on low) dried out! Should i make more Of the milk/cheese mixture to add in? Thanks!
Oh, darn..sorry that happened! I am guessing it does need more of that 🙂
This mac and cheese is So good. I just hosted friendsgiving before my husband’s deployment (around 20 people) and this was a Huge hit! The onLy food we didnt have leftovers of 🙂
Friendsgiving is so fun! I am so happy it was a hit!! Thank you for sharing the recipe with your friends 🙂
Can we add in one more cheese such a gouda? I love gouda cheese 🙂
You sure could 🙂 Enjoy!!
My family loved this recipe!
Happy they do! Thank you for letting me know!
This recipe is delicious! I added a few more noodles, and it was still super creamy and delicious. A favorite for kids and adults!
It totally is! Thanks for saying that!
So im making this for a party and aM preparing a little early can i keep it on watn or will it dry everything out??
It might, but maybe you can add a little splash of milk 🙂 Enjoy!!
Thank you so much for this recipe!! This was my first time doing a crockpot Mac and cheese and now it won’t be my last! My very picky kiddo who only eats Kraft LOVED this! Super Simple to out together and even doubled it for a cookout today!
Woohoo!! Love hearing that! Glad you tried it! Thank you for letting me know 🙂
About how many seRvings does this recipe make? Thanks!
About 8, 1 cup servings. Just depends on how big your servings are.
Hi. Do you think i could sub the sour cream with something Else? My husBand is allerigic to it. Thanks.
Not sure if he is allergic to any of these, but here are some suggestions…Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, or buttermilk. You can find more online. Hope any of those help!
i have tried at least 5 other mac n cheese recipes and this is by far the very best–thanks so much!!!!!
You are so welcome! Love to hear that! Thank you so much!
So… I came ACross this recipe like Two MOnths AGo, but I didn’t get to try it until now. Let me TEll you Though… it was a hit!!! This is by far the best recipe I have EVer tried FOr homemade mac! The ingredients are simple, it’s fast and easy To put together, and it tastes amazing!!! THe cheese sauce is very thick and creamy, but NOt Too thick that makes your tounge stick to the Roof Of your mouth. I actually appreciated the FAct there was no flour added to this because other RECIPIes left the sauce tasting a little chalky. The sour cream in this mixed with the cream Of cheese soup really helped to thicken up the sauce in just the right way! I just HAd to hunt down this website so That I Could come back and leave a review! 10/10 recommend This!
You are too nice 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing that! I am so happy you liked it!
Taste great and super easy to make. Will DEFINITELY make again. Thank you
Glad you think so 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing that!
This is probably the best homemade mac n cheese I’ve come across. It’s so creamy and cheesy! I was curious if I really needed to slow cook it for 2 hours since the noodles and cheese sauce were already made but it’s worth it.
Awe, thank you so much for saying that!! I guess you couldn’t. I personally have not tried.
WHat could be used To replace the can Cheese soup? We dont eat canned soups!
I haven’t left it out before, but maybe velveeta? Or, maybe google what are some good substitutes for the cheese soup. Hope you find something 🙂
Have you ever made this in the oven instead of the crock pot?
Not this specific recipe, but I have others on my site that are baked. Just search macaroni and cheese in the bar at the top 🙂 Hope you find one to try!
Can you make this recipe in instant pot instead of crockpot? What would the times be?
I personally haven’t tried yet, so not quite sure what the times would be.
I’ve made this recipe over a Dozen times now and its always gotten rave reviews! So smooth and creamy! Great for a potluck or as a side dish! Pair it with anytHing!!!
Agreed…goes with anything!! Thank you for making this recipe 🙂
I’m looking to make this for my daughter party and wondering about doubling it. How well does it do?
Great!! They would love it!
Hi! I haven’t made this yet, but I have a question – have you ever cooked the pasta itself, in the crock pot? I kinda feel if I’m going to boil my noodles, I may as well do as I normally do, and after boiling the noodles, al dente, to just bake it. I will, however, try it, as it looks super creamy and YuM! Thanks so much for sharing your recipes! Happy ? Thanksgiving, doll! ?♀
I have not cooked them in the crock pot by themselves. I usually boil them in the pot first 🙂 Sure hope you like them!! Happy Thanksgiving!
Thought of making this for Thanksgiving so gave it a trial run today. It’s a great recipe! The cheddar soup kind of grossed me out at first, but you can’t really taste it. I think the sourcream is what makes this mac and cheese special.
The fact that it’s so easy makes it a 5/5 in my book. It a very cheesy saucy mac and cheese that thickens as it sits. The noodle to sauce ratio makes this a decadent treat for sure.
Thank you so much for sharing all that! I am glad you tried it & liked it!
WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE CREAM OF CHEDDAR SOUP? CAN I USE ANY CREAM SOUP? i DON’T WANT TO GO TO THE STORE TODAY:)
You know, I have not tried, but I am sure you could 🙂 Let me know what you use & if you like it!
if you double the recipe do you have to double the cook time as well?
No, you shouldn’t have to 🙂
I made this an it seemed to have a grit to it ….followed directions…what could have I done wrong…taste good just a texture
Hmm, that’s a good question. Maybe, it wasn’t stirred enough?
HELLO – CAN I DOUBLE THIS RECIPE?
You sure could 🙂 Enjoy!!
I have tried a similar recipe but the cheddar cheese didn’t melt very well in the butter and “clumped” rather than marry. Is there a way to avoid this? Should I add the cheddar when I put it all into the crock pot instead?
It shouldn’t clump in this recipe 🙂 It’s one of our favorites!
Making this for my 3 grandchildren always have dinner with them on Thursday night,ages6 3,5,they are my CRITICS.they tell anyone that’ll listen to them,my nana cooks really good food.
I sure hope they like it!! I love that!
Can you make this the day before and put in fridge till next day then put in crockpot to reheat or won’t it be as good? Thinking for bringing to the lake and have it done ahead of time!!
I think that would work just fine! You can certainly give it a try!
Can you double this recipe? want to make it for easter and we have 10 people coming over!
Yes, of course 🙂 Hope it’s a hit!
We loved this for dinner tonight! Mine Was totally done in An hour (yes, I cooked it on low). I Was wondering if you’ve ever tried not boiling the noodles? I want To make it for my daughters birthday party but i really need it To cook in 2 hrs instead of 1.
Glad your family liked it! I have not tried, but it may work 🙂
Did you shred the cheddar CHEESE by HAND from a block or did you buy shredded cheddar cheese? Just wondering which cheese is best for THIS Recipe!!
Really, either is fine. If I have cheese that I have shredded on hand, I will use that, but sometimes for convenience I use the already shredded cheese.
Thank you! I’m making This for my daughters birthday party!! ☺
Hope it’s a hit! Enjoy!
I took this to a potluck and everyone loved it. I will de be making this again.
Yay!! Glad it was a hit! Thank you for sharing the recipe!
Im am going to try this tonight! Do we cook the mac and cheese fully or is it going to be a little hard to compensate for the two hours in the crock pot?
You cook for about 6 minutes, which usually is between 7-8, so it’s pretty much fully cooked.
It looks mouth watering I’m going to try it I’m sure it will taste great thank you
It really is! Hope you like it!
mac And cheese is always a favorite amongst the kids. Whats not to like about cheesy pasta in the crockpot. Not much effort in putting this together.
Mac and Cheese in a Crock pot? I had to try it. My kids love it so much. It’s become my go to dish when my husband and I are headed out for dinner and I don’t really want to cook for my kids. Thanks for posting!
This is better then any Mac and Cheese recipe I have ever eaten! So creamy and delicious!
I will never eat boxed mac & cheese again!! This was so tasty, cheesy, & the crock pot does all the work. What’s better!?
Your smile just darn well makes me happy. I am older now and it is so refreshing to share your enthusiasm and zest for life. I am loving your recipes especially the easy ones. You must be one busy woman with six kids, have no doubt you are a lovely mother! I am sitting in my favorite chair with painsomnia and your site is just what I need to get back my joy!! Yeah, I am so glad I found you and I look forward to future recipes! Sending a hug because I want to!! Lead on Kristyn.
Awe, thank you so much! You are so nice! I am super busy, but love what I do 🙂 I sure hope you try some recipes & that you love them, as much as we do! Sending a hug back!!
This dish looks soooo mouthwatering yummy. I got to put this on our Sunday dinner table. Thank you!
It is!! I hope your family likes it, as much as we do!! Thank you!
How much pepper do you add to this recipe??
Just depends on how much you like pepper. I usually add 1/4 teaspoon.
What kind of cheddar cheese do you use? Sharp cheddar or mild cheddar?
I usually use mild, but really, both work well. Whatever you prefer 🙂
I am confused! This is my go to Mac and Cheese recipe. I’ve brought it to several gatherings and it is always a crowd pleaser. I actually just got a request to bring it to a party this weekend. I do add a tiny bit of garlic and onion powder to mine other than that it’s exactly the same recipe. Are you sure you followed the recipe and didn’t miss something and your ingredients were fresh?
Wow…I believe your review is a little much! You could’ve just said you didn’t like it! Oh and BTW awfuller is not a word and Mac and Cheese is a side not a meal🙄. I thought it was delish!
