But at the same time, I don’t want dinner to be boring either. I like using chicken breasts because when you cut them in half horizontally they cook up really quickly. Top them with a flavorful sauce and you have a meal the whole family will love.
This juicy, moist, and super flavorful lemon garlic chicken cooks quickly on the stovetop. It’s a family-friendly dinner and pairs perfectly with Oven Roasted Vegetables or a simple side salad and Rice.
Quick and Simple Dinner
Don’t be fooled by this short list of ingredients in this lemon garlic chicken recipe, because I promise you they give this chicken phenomenal flavor!
PREP. Cut the chicken breasts in half horizontally to create 4 thinner breasts. Sprinkle each with salt and pepper to taste and coat each in flour.
COOK. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place chicken into the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes or until golden. Flip and cook for another 3 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
While the chicken is browning, prepare your remaining ingredients. It is important to have everything ready so the garlic doesn’t burn.
SEASON. Remove chicken from the pan and set aside. Add garlic to the pan and stir constantly for 30 seconds.
Stir in the remaining ingredients. Remove from stove and add chicken to the pan and turn to coat in the buttery lemon garlic sauce.
Recipe Tips
Lemon garlic chicken breast is packed with lemon flavor and comes out perfectly cooked with these suggestions.
Lemon. 1 medium lemon can produce 2-3 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice. Increase the lemon flavor by adding lemon zest.
Add extra flavor with fresh thyme, rosemary, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, or red pepper flakes.
Garnish with parsley flakes and slices of lemon.
Temperature. Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F.
To grill the chicken. Combine the garlic, lemon juice, honey, and soy sauce in a Ziploc and add 4 tablespoons of olive oil instead of butter. Add the chicken to the marinade and let it sit for 30-60 minutes. Do not marinate for longer than 2 hours.
Storing + Serving Tips
STORE. Keep any leftover garlic lemon honey chicken in an airtight container and store them in the fridge for up to three days.

Recipe FAQ
You can absolutely make a creamier sauce with this dish. Wisk about ¼ cup of heavy cream when you stir the ingredients into the pan in step 5. Do not let the sauce boil.
You can substitute the chicken breasts with 4 boneless skinless chicken thighs. You do not need to cut the thighs in half, but you can use a meat mallet to even out the thickness.

Please do not waste your expensive honey on this . It was AWFUL theres something very wrong with the ingredients and I don’t know if its bc it’s too much flour or what or maybe she needs to specify what order to add in all the final ingredients,what temp to use, how long to cook, etc…but that last step ruined everything. I wish it would let me upload the photo i took of how nasty it turned out. Chunky, thick and tasted horrible. Wow worst one yet of my entire cooking career lol. Usually I can save a mess up but not this one. Steer clear if it.
