Recipe Tips

This best baked bqq chicken recipe will be moist and packed with flavor with these tips.

  • Baking different cuts. Use the following information as a guide when baking at 375°F. Verify with a meat thermometer that the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
    • boneless skinless chicken breast or thighs: bake for 25-30 minutes
    • bone-in breast or thigh: bake for 45-50 minutes
    • chicken drumsticks: bake for 35-45 minutes
    • chicken wings: bake for about 40 minutes
  • Avoid dry chicken. The BBQ sauce should ensure tenderness. Cooking the chicken at a higher temperature will help the outside crisp up while leaving the center cooked yet still juicy.
  • Serving suggestions. Serve this oven baked bbq chicken recipe with Arugula Salad, Roasted Green Beans, Boiling Corn on the Cob, Chicken Caesar Salad, or a Baked Potato.

  • STORE leftover baked BBQ chicken breast in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
