Best Green Smoothie Recipe

YUMMY green smoothie recipe on { lilluna.com } Recipe includes pineapples, spinach, strawberries, & bananas.

I’m trying to eat healthier.

And that’s not always easy, especially if you’re always in the kitchen trying out new recipes (usually dessert recipes too!) No excuses, I guess but I’m really trying to be a little better and make healthier choices so recently I started drinking Green Smoothies. I was a little repulsed at the idea at first, but then realized they weren’t bad. In fact, they are REALLY good!! Over the last few months the hubby and I have created what we think is the Best Green Smoothie Recipe, but that’s probably because we fill it with the foods we love making it yummy, refreshing and easy to make.

What we usually do is buy the ingredients and bulk and spend an hour cutting everything up and packaging them in Quart size freezer bags to freeze. That way we can pull it out, add a few more ingredients and we’re good to go in a matter of minutes. 🙂

Of course, everyone is going to have different suggestions on what to add to make it to their liking, but here’s what we do for ours.

The hubby wasn’t too thrilled to try this out but ended up loving it. He even told me he could eat this every day for breakfast and could be happy. That means a lot coming from a picky person who isn’t too fond of “healthy” food.

I use this recipe for myself and freeze the spinach, strawberries, pineapple and banana in the quart size bags. I then add the water and yogurt and vanilla and it is so cold and delicious. If the hubby wants some I just add a few more strawberries, spinach and water. Sometimes, the hubby likes it a little more sweet so he’ll add a packet of Truvia be I love it just as it is.

  1. I’d love to try your green smoothie but I can’t seem to find the link to the. Link to the actual recipe. Can you please help me out? Thanks!!

  2. My favorite green smoothie recipe is 1 cup Spinach, 4-6 oz sugar-free plain or vanilla yogurt, 1 Tbsp creamy peanut butter, 8 oz skim milk, 1 banana, 1 scoop chocolate protein powder., several ice cubes. I often have it for dinner!

  3. I would recommend using greek yogurt and putting vanilla in it if the yogurt isn’t vanilla. Also, you could put a spoonful of cocoa powder and see how that tastes too! The recipe sounds good! I’m gonna try it 🙂

  4. I love smoothies!! It’s become my new favorite summer breakfast especially since it’s too hot here in Houston….as you well know 🙂 lol!! I’m going to try the freezing ahead of time like you suggested. I hadn’t thought about it, but it would sure make my life simplier. I usually put a handful of spinach, frozen strawberries, fresh banana, greek vanilla yogart and 1 pack of Truvia and blend. I’ve also made it with frozen raspberries and both were delicious!! Thanks for the recipe. I will be trying it!!

  5. What do you usually use for liquid and how much? Smoothies have become my new go to breakfast, can’t wait to try. I have been making them with oatmeal and PB2 they are super filling.
