QUICK + EASY

This Broccoli Cauliflower Salad is SO refreshing, simple, and quick. We are often on the lookout for simple salads, especially for BBQs, family functions, and holidays. This salad is perfect for the occasion.

Not only is the salad bright, fresh, and crunchy but the combination of broccoli, cauliflower, cheese, bacon, and sunflower seeds is delicious.

The homemade dressing that we also use in our regular Broccoli Salad is what takes it to the next level.

Each ingredient in this Broccoli & Cauliflower Salad has its own tasty texture and flavor that makes this salad perfect for your next get-together.

Feel free to add or omit any ingredients you want or don’t want, but we loved this combination.

THE Dressing

This salad dressing calls for ยพ cup of light mayo which might scare you a little, but I PROMISE it’s worth every single calorie.

It’s a little sweet and super creamy. Yes, you can use full-fat mayo, but the light works perfectly!

JUST MIX. To make the dressing, combine the mayo together with a little sugar, salt, and red wine vinegar and it’s done.

The dressing is the perfect consistency for coating each individual piece of this salad for the perfect yummy bite! If making the dressing in advance, just store it in the fridge until ready to add to the salad.

How to Make broccoli cauliflower salad

Not only is this Broccoli Bacon Cauliflower Salad incredibly tasty, but it’s also probably the easiest salad you’ll ever make!

PREP. Cook and crumble up the bacon. Dice the fresh broccoli florets, raw cauliflower, and ยฝ a red onion.

COMBINE. In a large mixing bowl, combine the crumbled crispy bacon pieces, cauliflower, broccoli, onion, cheese, and sunflower seeds.

DRESS. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the mayo, sugar, vinegar, and salt. Pour over salad and toss to coat.

CHILL. Refrigerate before serving.

Variations

Change up the ingredients to your liking! Try different cheeses or nuts to add different flavors, including:

  • shredded cheddar cheese or Monterrey jack cheese
  • chopped walnuts or pecans
  • add dried cranberries or raisins
  • mix in a chopped boiled egg
  • chopped apples

Recipe Tips + Storing Info

Mayonnaise. I used light mayo, but regular will also work. If you’re not a mayo fan, try using Miracle Whip or Greek Yogurt. Both will alter the flavor but since you donโ€™t like mayo anyway they will work.

Make ahead of time. This dressing is great to make ahead of time.

  • Prepare just the dressing and keep it in the fridge until you’re ready to use it.
  • Cut and chop all the ingredients ahead of time too! Toss them together in a bowl and keep them in the fridge until ready to serve with the dressing.

I love having a salad all ready to go when I need it.

STORE. Store Broccoli and Cauliflower Salad in an airtight container in the fridge. It should last up to 3-4 days!
