Okay, picture this: flaky, buttery croissants hugging warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie dough. Yep, introducing cookie croissants, and trust us, they’re as AMAZING as they sound!

It’s like the best of both worlds collided! It’s a total game-changer for an indulgent breakfast, a snack, or dessert (which is how we enjoy it).

The real magic is how simple these are to make! Whip up a batch of cookie dough, stuff the store-bought croissants (we always love to keep things simple), pop them in the oven, and BAM! You have a golden brown exterior with a gooey cookie center. We sprinkled ours with powdered sugar for a little something extra, and boy, are they pretty!

They’re perfect for a weekend brunch treat, a fun baking project with the kids, or just when you need a little something special to brighten your day.

Why we think you’ll love it:

  • As easy as it gets! It feels a little bit fancy but is secretly super easy to make. Just whip up the cookie dough and stuff those croissants!
  • Simple shortcut. We used store-bought croissants (because sometimes we just don’t have time for all of that from scratch!)
  • A deliciously decadent twist. If you are looking for a fun and delicious twist on your usual baked goods, this easy dessert recipe is for you!
  • 12 tablespoons butter, melted We use unsalted butter, but salted butter can be used.

How to Make Chocolate Croissants

  1. PREP. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking tray with parchment or silicone.
  2. BATTER. In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, mix the butter, brown sugar, and sugar. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
    • Add the flour, baking soda, and salt, and mix to form a soft dough. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  3. ASSEMBLE. Slice each croissant in half horizontally. Spread 3-4 tablespoons of cookie dough in an even layer on one half of the croissant.
    • Place the other half of the croissant on top. Press a teaspoon-sized ball of cookie dough on top of each side of the croissant.
  4. BAKE. Bake croissants for 12-13 minutes, until the cookie dough on top is light golden brown.
    • Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes, then sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut in half and serve warm.
  • We prefer to fill the croissants with homemade chocolate chip cookie dough, but store-bought cookie dough can also be used.
  • Some easy variations include using different types of chocolate chips or adding in chopped nuts.
  • We like to serve this decadent dessert with a glass of milk or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
