Eggnog Meltaway Cookies
Who loves eggnog?! I do!
It’s a holiday staple, and I love that you can use it for things other than just drinking. Yes. It’s true. You can even use it for baking!!
I used it in today’s recipe for Eggnog cookies. The result was a soft and chewy cookie with hints of nutmeg, cinnamon, sugar and eggnog.
The Eggnog glaze on top was the perfect addition. It made them just sweet enough but not too rich and makes for another great holiday cookie recipe to try this year.
There really is nothing like making a cute gift out of something homemade – like cookies! I really hope you get a chance to try these delicious Eggnog Cookies. If you know of someone who is an Eggnog lover, I can guarantee they’ll love this cookie concoction. ๐
How to Make Eggnog Cookies
If you’re a fan of eggnog, then you’ll definitely love these cookies. They only require a few simple ingredients and steps.
WET INGREDIENTS. Begin by creaming together your butter and sugar until fluffy. Add in the eggs and vanilla and mix well. From there, add eggnog and mix until well combined.
DRY INGREDIENTS. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, nutmeg and cinnamon and mix. Add this mixture to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.
BAKE. Use a cookie scoop to drop batter onto parchment lined baking sheets and bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes.
GLAZE + SERVE. Let cool before drizzling on the glaze. Super easy and super tasty!
Christmas Cookie Gift
Well, if you guys know me at all you won’t be surprised to learn that I didn’t stop at just making cookies. I was asked by Horizon Organic to make a simple and fun gift idea this holiday season and decided to use these cookies and a Cookie Jar I found at my local Kroger Store for it.
Who would give a Cookie Jar for a gift without cookies, right?! I made this batch and then filled the jar with them and even decided to make a little poem and turned it into a tag that reminded the recipient of the true reason for this amazing season.
To make this gift is beyond simple! I began by finding a cute jar. From there, I made this printable tag.

Tips + SToring Info
To FREEZE: These cookies would do well as baked and then frozen cookies, or just freezing the dough before baking. When freezing baked cookies make sure that you freeze them in layers and then let them thaw to room temperature before freezing. You can freeze them in an airtight container for up to 4 weeks.
STORE cookies for about a week in a ziploc bag or tupperware container on the counter.

Recipe adapted from In Katrina’s Kitchen.
I am definitely going to make these cookies for family and friends for Christmas. My husband had bought me boozy eggnog from Costco and I needed to find a good eggnog cookie recipe. This fits the bill. Thanks for all your great recipes.
Are the calories & carbs correct I never knew it was possible for 1 cookie to have over 2000 calories.
Has to be a typo, 1.5 cups of egg nog is way too much. Should be 1/2 cup instead because otherwise you’ve got pancake batter here.
Like the others i have to agree, its too liquid . if you look at other similar recipes , it calls for 2 egg yolks and not 2 full eggs. Also they use less eggnog. i ended up making cupcakes out of them . Flavour is ok, missing spices …. would not recommend this recipe
Thanks for the feedback and for giving the recipe a try!
I make these every year at Christmas for work. Everyone absolutely loves them. There’s never any left and I get asked for the recipe all the time!
I was able to save this recipe by adding 1/2 cup flour and then poured into muffin pan. I used convection oven and bumped the temp to 375.
Thanks for trying it ๐
One and a half cups eggnog? My dough came out more like batter, so I poured it into a jelly roll pan and it came out like an egg nog cake after 30 minutes. Soft and flavorful, but definitely not a cookie dough.
This recipe calls for 1 & 1/2 cups of eggnog. That turned my recipe (which I had doubled) into pancake batter. I went to Google to see if I could find other Eggnog cookie recipes and they all called for 1/2 c. of eggnog. Not sure if this is a misprint, or what, but I sure wasted a lot of ingredients. :/
My mother in law had the same issue today. It is way to much liquid. I told her to try again with half a cup
They came out super creamy and wet I added more flour to make it more packed and stiff but it didnt work and I did freeze it and it kinda helped, but not really.
I have made these many times and they turn out every single time!
