Best Cream Cheese Fruit Dip

Who doesn’t love a good Fruit Dip recipe? Fruit is already so tasty as it is, but let me tell you, dipping it in something sweet and sugar-y really enhances the flavor! That’s what I love about this Cream Cheese Fruit Dip recipe! Another thing that I absolutely love is that it only takes a handful of ingredients, and comes together in  minutes! With how simple it is to make, it’s perfect for parties, BBQ’s, showers, and get togethers!


I actually made this for a small craft night at my home a few weeks back, and the second everyone left the hubby and I put on a show and sat and dipped strawberries in the little that was left. I’ll admit we cleaned the whole bowl pretty quickly. The hubby agreed it was his new preferred “treat.” I think when he realized the dip had cream cheese, it became an automatic favorite in his book. 🙂

Marshmallow Fruit Dip

Like I mentioned before, this recipe only contains 5 ingredients:

  1. Cream cheese
  2. Marshmallow Fluff
  3. Cool Whip
  4. Sugar
  5. Vanilla

I know the initial thought of marshmallow and fruit paired together sounds kind of strange, but I can assure you, the marshmallow fluff is key to this dip. The marshmallow fluff and the cool whip give the dip a really light texture, while the cream cheese gives it an irresistible creamy consistency. You can definitely opt to use “light” versions of the cream cheese and cool whip, and the dip will still turn out just as creamy and delicious. I typically use light cool whip.

  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 7 oz marshmallow fluff
  • 7 oz cool whip (I used light)
  • 1 tsp vanilla


  1. Beat cream cheese (that is room temperature) with sugar and vanilla until well mixed. Fold in cool whip and marshmallow fluff.

  2. Place in a bowl and chill.

  2. Thanks for posting this. It brought back some great memories.

    My Mama used to make a similar, but easier recipe for fruit dip when I was growing up. She just mixed 8 oz cream cheese with a jar of marshmallow creme and 1 tsp vanilla butter & nut flavoring. She always served it dolloped on canned pears with a maraschino cherry on top. We always felt like it was such a fancy dessert back then.

  3. I have made this dip for years except my recipe doesn’t include the sugar. It is still sweet,creamy and fluffy. A family fave for sure!

      1. Can you freeze this dip? also what is size of small tub? my store sells1Litre or 2 litre so that is 4cups or 8cups, but I think there is one smaller yet?

  4. Hello, I have a question. You say 1 container marshmallow fluff and 1 tub cool whip. Well what size container and tub? They both come in many different size ounces, so I’m not sure what size to get for each!

  5. I made this and it was too sticky, imo. I hope I did not add too much fluff. I bought the smallest container. How many ounces of fluff should I have used.

    1. I use the 7 ounce jar. We’ve made it several times and it never seemed sticky. Curious, if you used the generic brand and wondering if that made a difference…

      1. You could use a sticky gelatin with a different flavouring just use less water. There might be artificial marshmallow flavourings you could add. Or use a different sweet flavouring like strawberries which goes great with cream cheese.

  7. My fiancé currently has been making this amazing marshmallow whip-cream cheese fruit dip which is out of this world! That amazing deliciousness definitely is bribe worthy! I will do all the dirty household chores just to get a taste of that yummy fruit dip!
    He just uses the marshmallow whip and cream cheese (2&2)
    I bet it would be even tastier with all the added sugar!

    I love to pair it with Honeydew,Green Apples, Strawberries, and Raspberries!

  8. If you are diabetic, I think 1/4c. of sugar and no marshmallow fluff, would cut down on the carbs and sugars. making it healthier.
