We eat a TON of chips and salsa at our house so it’s only natural we create a dessert version!

We’ve been making these cinnamon tortilla chips every since we were kids and the tradition continues! They are crunchy with the perfect hint of cinnamon and sugar. Best yet, this recipe only uses 4 ingredients!! AND, they’re ready in 15 minutes!

These are perfect when you want something sweet without making a full dessert. Serve them warm and crunchy with Fruit Salsa or Strawberry Salsa, and they disappear so quickly!

Cinnamon Tortilla Chips Ingredients

  • Flour tortillas (10 flour tortillas, 10 inch tortillas): These turn into crisp โ€œchipsโ€ in the oven, and flour tortillas bake up light and crunchy with a sweet coating. We used 10-inch tortillas but you can use a smaller size for smaller chips. Use store-bought or Homemade Tortillas. You can also use corn tortillas, just reduce the baking time.
  • Butter, melted (ยฝ cup): Helps the cinnamon sugar stick, adds rich flavor, and gives the chips that golden, bakery-style crispness.
  • Sugar (โ…“ cup): Sweetens every bite and creates that classic crunchy cinnamon sugar coating once baked.
  • Cinnamon (2 teaspoons): Brings warm spice and that churro-like flavor everyone loves. Or use nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice.

How to Make Cinnamon Tortilla Chips

PREP. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF.

SEASON. Mix โ…“ cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon in a small bowl. Set aside.

  • Brush 10 Flour Tortillas with ยฝ cup melted butter and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture.

BAKE. Cut each tortilla into wedges. Place on an ungreased sheet pan, or line with parchment paper. Bake for 8-10 minutes or just until crisp. Serve with fresh Fruit Salsa, chocolate sauce, or sweet dipping sauce.

    Air Fryer Directions

Prepare the tortillas as instructed in the recipe. Place a batch of tortilla chips in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

Fry at 360ยฐF for 3-4 minutes. Shake the basket a bit and air fry for another 3-4 minutes. (Since they are brushed with butter you do not need to use cooking spray.)

    Kristyn’s Recipe Tips

    • Use a pastry brush to spread the butter evenly so every chip crisps the same.
    • Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar generously, but keep it even so it does not clump or burn in spots.
    • Bake on the middle rack and start checking at 8 minutes. Thin tortillas tend to crisp fast.
    • For extra crisp chips, let them cool on the baking sheet for 2 to 3 minutes before moving to a rack.
