This Taco Dip is one of our favorites along with our classic Bean Dip and Chili’s Skillet Queso.

We Love A Quick Dip!

Make Taco Tuesday even better by adding a tasty dip. We have so many favorites like our 7 Layer Bean Dip, Queso Blanco and today’s Taco Dip!

Just grab your Tortilla Chips and start dipping for a perfect appetizer!

Why we love it:

  • 10-minute dip. It’s so quick and easy to make.
  • A taco twist. This has all the flavors and ingredients of tacos but in dip form.
  • Party on. It’s a great dip for sharing with friends which means it’s great to bring to a Cinco de Mayo Fiesta, a Super Bowl Party or any festive occasion!
  • Customizable toppings. There are endless possibilities to suit everyone’s preferences.

Ingredients

  • cream cheese 
  • light sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • taco seasoning mix use a storebought package or use about 2 tablespoons Homemade Taco Seasoning mix
  • iceberg lettuce 
  • shredded cheddar cheese or use a Mexican cheese blend, Colby jack cheese, or another favorite. 
  • bell peppers any color
  • tomatoes 
  • black olives
  • more favorite toppings: cilantro, green onions, green chilies

How to Make Taco Dip

  1. CREAM LAYER. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, sour cream, and seasonings. Spread the mixture in a 9-inch serving dish.
  2. TOPPINGS. Then top it with:
    • shredded lettuce
    • shredded cheese
    • tomatoes
    • bell peppers
    • olives
    • more toppings include: black beans, refried beans, scallions, jalapeños, avocado, green onions, cilantro
  3. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

Storing + Serving Info

  • Make ahead of time. Mix the cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning. Keep this mixture in the fridge the night before you need to serve it. Prepare the rest of the ingredients and keep them separate and in the fridge until you’re ready to assemble the dip and serve.
  • Serving. Make sure your taco dip doesn’t sit out on the counter for more than 2 hours.
  • STORE. Keep it covered in the fridge if you want to eat some later in the day. It will last in the fridge for 3-4 days.

Taco Dip Recipe

Ingredients 

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 16 ounces light sour cream
  • 1 (1.25-ounce) package taco seasoning mix
  • ¼ head iceberg lettuce rinse, drained, shredded
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 (2.25-ounce) can black olives, drained

Instructions 

  • Mix together cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning. Spread mixture in a 9-inch (or a little larger) serving dish. Top the mixture with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, bell pepper, and black olives. Enjoy with tortilla chips or pita chips.
