Current Salad Obsession
We’re pretty obsessed with chicken caesar salad around here – it truly is one of my favorite salads!
We wanted to share a simple version of this recipe and we LOVE how it turned out. It’s loaded with bacon, chicken, boiled egg, cherry tomatoes, croutons, Parmesan cheese, and of course, Caesar dressing. This definitely isn’t your classic Caesar salad – it’s the ultimate!!
The real star of this salad is the dressing. It definitely wouldn’t be a caesar salad without caesar dressing. I used Marzetti® Simply Dressed® Caesar Salad Dressing or you can make your own homemade Caesar Dressing. It’s made with a few simple ingredients and no preservatives or artificial flavors to enhance the fresh, natural goodness of salad.
How to Make Chicken Caesar Salad
The chicken caesar salad recipe itself was pretty easy to make.
COMBINE. Add the greens (cut the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces) to the large bowl, then layer the bacon, hard-boiled eggs, chicken, tomatoes, and half of the cheese on top. Add croutons and toss along with the remaining cheese and desired amount of dressing, or serve undressed and dress individual servings, garnishing each with remaining cheese.
Serving size: 2 large dinner salads or 4 side salads
Variations
The ingredients you use are easy to change up!
- Use shrimp, anchovies, or salmon instead of cooked boneless skinless chicken breast.
- For a bright flavor add a spritz of lemon juice to the salad.
- Use leftover chicken from a previous meal, a rotisserie chicken, or a package of chicken strips from the refrigerator section at the grocery store.
- Add in your favorite veggies like cucumbers.
Serving + Storing
Sides to serve with a chicken caesar salad will depend on whether the salad is being served as a main dish or a side dish.
- Use Cheesy Garlic Bread, Corn on the Cob, or a Baked Potato when the salad is a main dish.
- When the salad is used as a side dish serve it with pizza like this Tomato Pizza, a sandwich like this Monte Cristo, wraps or bites like Flatout Wrap, or with a small bowl of Soup.
STORE. If your salad has been sitting at room temperature for 2 hours or longer it may no longer be safe to eat so go ahead and toss it. If the leftovers are still safe to eat store them in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Keep in mind the croutons will not stay crisp and the greens will gradually become wilted and soggy so don’t wait too long to finish eating this delicious salad.

Recipe FAQ
In its simplest form, a caesar salad consists of lettuce, croutons, parmesan cheese, chicken, and a creamy caesar dressing. I added bacon bits, boiled eggs, and tomatoes.
I don’t recommend assembling the salad more than a day ahead of time and don’t add the croutons until just before serving. However, you can cook and prepare the different ingredients 2-3 days ahead and store them separately until you’re ready to assemble the salad
