Caramel Apple Bites are one of our favorite quick treats when we want something fun, cute, and easy for a party. Itโs the best sweet-and-salty combo, a pretzel snap, a warm melty Rolo, and a crisp bite of apple on top. No messy caramel dipping, no complicated steps, and theyโre ready fast.
We love making these for fall parties, Halloween trays, or anytime we need a simple dessert that feels festive. Set them out on a platter and they disappear. Everyone loves them!!

Why you’ll love them + Why they work:
- So simple. Easy sweet-and-salty treat with just a few ingredients.
- No mess! No caramel dipping mess, Rolos do the work.
- Party perfect. Perfect bite-size dessert for parties and holidays.
- Short bake softens Rolos perfectly. Just enough heat to stick without turning them into a puddle.
- Pretzels add crunch and balance. The salty base keeps the bites from being overly sweet.

Caramel Apple Bites Ingredients
- 1-2ย cupsย pretzel snaps,ย (the square pretzels): The crunchy salty base that holds everything. If you can’t find the pretzel snaps (waffle pretzels), then pretzel twists can be used.
- 1ย bag Rolo candy: Provides the caramel and chocolate layer, and melts just enough to stick (or a bag of Brach soft caramels).
- 4ย apples,ย cut into slices, then cut into bite-size pieces: Adds crisp freshness and makes these feel like caramel apples in bite form. We used tart Granny Smith apples, but McIntosh, Pink Lady, Honeycrisp, Empire, Cortland, or Braeburn apples can be used.
- toothpicks: Makes them easy to pick up, serve, and eat.

Recipe FAQ
We like using tart Granny Smith apples to help balance out the sweetness of the Rolo candy, but any type of apple can be used.
Once the apples have been cut, the oxidation process begins, and the apples will eventually brown. To help slow down the process, sprinkle the sliced apples with Balls Fresh Fruit Powder, or dip them in lemon juice.
We like to place any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge, where they should stay edible for 2-3 days.

Kristyn, โUNWRAPPEDโ Rolos??
Sorry, Iโm confused about that!! ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Each Rolo is typically wrapped in foil, that direction is just a reminder to unwrap them before putting them on the pretzels.
