An Easy Twist on a FAvorite!
We LOVE classic bruschetta but decided to make another version that is even simpler and JUST as delicious!
This classic Italian appetizer comes from my Aunt Georgie who has been making this easy bruschetta recipe for years. We always request it at family gatherings. This particular version is made even easier – 5 ingredients and ready to serve in only 15 minutes! It doesn’t get much easier than that.

Ingredients
PREP TIME: 10 minutes
COOK TIME: 4 minutes
- 1 (16-ounce) can Italian diced tomatoes – Mix up your own Italian diced tomatoes using 4 chopped Roma tomatoes, ½ teaspoon basil, and ½ teaspoon oregano.
- 3 Roma tomatoes
- 2½ tablespoons minced garlic – How to Mince Garlic
- 4 tablespoons olive oil – extra virgin olive oil
- ¾ cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- shaved Parmesan – optional
- 1 baguette – or another similarly sized loaf of bread, Italian Bread, Sourdough Bread, hogi roll, French Bread, or ciabatta bread
- ¼ cup butter – We used unsalted, but salted works well too.
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
How to Make Easy Bruschetta
- COMBINE. Mix 1 can of Italian diced tomatoes, 3 chopped Roma tomatoes, 2½ tablespoons of minced garlic, 4 tablespoons of olive oil, and ¾ cup chopped basil in a medium bowl.
- Refrigerate bruschetta mix until ready to serve.
- BREAD. Make baguette slices, by brushing with butter and sprinkling with Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese to each slice. Spread on a baking sheet.
- Broil in the oven on HIGH for 2-5 minutes or until toasted or toast bread on a skillet on LOW-MEDIUM heat.
- SERVE. Scoop the tomato mixture onto toasted baguette slices right before serving.
- Optional: top this easy bruschetta recipe with shaved parmesan cheese or drizzle with a balsamic glaze.

Ingredients

Bread Slices
- 1 baguette
- ¼ cup butter, softened
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions
- Make bruschetta by putting Italian diced tomatoes, chopped Roma tomatoes, minced garlic, olive oil, and basil in a medium bow. Mix slowly to combine.
- Refrigerate bruschetta mix until ready to serve.
- Make bread slices, by slicing baguette and adding butter and Parmesan cheese to each slice.
- Broil on HIGH for 2-5 minutes or until toasted or toast on a skillet on LOW-MEDIUM heat.
- Scoop bruschetta onto slices right before serving.

Recipe FAQ
The fresh tomato topping can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1-2 days before topping the toasted bread slices.
Remove the bruschetta topping from the bread and store it in a container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Store the toasted bread slices wrapped in foil in the fridge.
