It’s a holiday staple, and I love that you can use it for things other than just drinking. Yes. It’s true. You can even use it for baking!!

I used it in today’s recipe for Eggnog cookies. The result was a soft and chewy cookie with hints of nutmeg, cinnamon, sugar and eggnog.

The Eggnog glaze on top was the perfect addition. It made them just sweet enough but not too rich and makes for another great holiday cookie recipe to try this year.

There really is nothing like making a cute gift out of something homemade – like cookies! I really hope you get a chance to try these delicious Eggnog Cookies. If you know of someone who is an Eggnog lover, I can guarantee they’ll love this cookie concoction. ๐Ÿ˜‰

How to Make Eggnog Cookies

If you’re a fan of eggnog, then you’ll definitely love these cookies. They only require a few simple ingredients and steps.

WET INGREDIENTS. Begin by creaming together your butter and sugar until fluffy. Add in the eggs and vanilla and mix well. From there, add eggnog and mix until well combined.

DRY INGREDIENTS. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, nutmeg and cinnamon and mix. Add this mixture to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.

BAKE. Use a cookie scoop to drop batter onto parchment lined baking sheets and bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes.

GLAZE + SERVE. Let cool before drizzling on the glaze. Super easy and super tasty!

Christmas Jar Gifts for eggnog cookies

Well, if you guys know me at all you won’t be surprised to learn that I didn’t stop at just making cookies. I was asked by Horizon Organic to make a simple and fun gift idea this holiday season and decided to use these cookies and a Cookie Jar I found at my local Kroger Store for it.

Who would give a Cookie Jar for a gift without cookies, right?! I made this batch and then filled the jar with them and even decided to make a little poem and turned it into a tag that reminded the recipient of the true reason for this amazing season.

To make this gift is beyond simple! I began by finding a cute jar. From there, I made this printable tag.

Tips + SToring Info

To FREEZE: These cookies would do well as baked and then frozen cookies, or just freezing the dough before baking. When freezing baked cookies make sure that you freeze them in layers and then let them thaw to room temperature before freezing. You can freeze them in an airtight container for up to 4 weeks.

STORE cookies for about a week in a ziploc bag or tupperware container on the counter.

They taste good But ran when I put them on the pan because they were so thin. When baked they were barely formed. Not sure what I did wrong.

I was just in your situation!
I did equal parts butter to sugar (split 1/2 and 1/2 between white and light brown). They came out awesome ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope this helpS! also found that it took a bit longer time to bake than expected. But the final product is delicious.
