Our easy spinach artichoke dip is extra delicious, cheesy and prepped in minutes – making it the ultimate party dip!

The Go-to Party Dip!
Spinach artichoke dip has ALWAYS been one of our favorite appetizers.
It’s one we often get when we go out for date night and a dip we frequently whip up for parties, get-togethers, and holidays! We especially love this spinach artichoke dip recipe is VERY simple, only requires a small handful of ingredients, and can be put together in just a few minutes (we even have a crockpot version).
Serve it with Homemade Tortilla chips (or store bought – our favorite kind if Juanitas’s) or slices of French Bread.
WHY WE LOVE IT:
- Extra creamy! With two kinds of cheese, mayo, AND sour cream – this is one cheesy, creamy dip.
- 10-minute prep. Mix and bake, how simple is that?! We love this easy appetizer.
- Plenty to share! This makes a big batch, enough for everyone. It can easily be made ahead of time making planning a breeze.

This will be our 7th Christmas Eve making this for the nosh table. I triple the batch, but just bake 1/3 of it, and then have take home containers already packed for friends to take home! Everyone who plans to attend always asks if there will be spinach & artichoke dip. This year I am serving this on grilled naan with the top broiled a bit, SO yummy! Thank you for a great recipe that is in our hall of fame recipe box.
This is a great appetizer to put in the crock pot. It’s easy and tastes delicious when using pita chips.
I made cold & still a huge hit! Also substituted different seasonings but always garlic powder! Yum
I used this recipe to make the base of my spinach artichoke dip pizza and it was AMAZING! Everyone that tried it really enjoyed it.
Also baked off the leftover dip and it turned out great as well and full of flavor!
Since I made this early it will be 27 hours before we eat it. It’s longer than the 24 hours that you said. Will this be ok?
Yes, it should be fine still if it has been in the fridge.
I consider myself to be a bit of a spinach-artichoke dip snob and I LOVE this recipe. I’ve made it several times and it always turns out great, plus it’s an easy crowd pleaser. I have gotten lots of compliments thanks to y’all 😊
Best Spinach Artichoke dip! Three grown daughters just asked for it again! (Family get together tomorrow for Jets v Giants game!)

My favorite dip. I always order it when we go out. I plan on making it for super bowl.
Can you cook this by microwave?
Delicious & easy! I used fresh spinach. It was as good as what we get in a restaurant!
I would like to double this recipe and bake in a 2 — 2 1/2qt. Casserole dish. How long should it bake?
Simply delicious! 5 stars for the spinach and artichoke dip 🌟Everyone loved it! I think I should have doubled the quantity ❤️

Surprisingly a very tasty recipe
Read the answer to my question🤦🏻♀️
Can you do this recipe in the crockpot? Wanting to be able to keep it warm for several hours.
Yes! You definitely can. Make as directed by combining all the ingredients. Place in a greased slow cooker and heat on LOW for 3-4 hours or on HIGH for 2 hours.
Can I double this dip and bake in an oval deeper baking dish and should I increase the baking time?
How long can you keep leftovers?
It should last a couple of days leftover in the fridge. I’d suggest keeping it in an airtight container or covered with plastic wrap.
Best one yet. Used Parmesan, Romano, Asiago mix
Sounds delicious!! So glad you enjoyed the dip!
can i mix together and refrigerate several hours ahead of baking off?
can I mix ingredients and refrigerate several hours prior to baking off?
Yes, absolutely!! You can refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking.
The pin link is not working for me . So I made my own.
If using fresh spinach, still 10 oz? Thank you!
Yep!
Can you mix all ingredients and leave in fridge overnight and bake the next day?
You bet!!

Woohoo!! Glad she thinks that! Thank you so much!
Delicious
Glad you think so 🙂 Thank you!
I absolutely love this recipe! I’m always required to have it all gatherings we host and there is never any left over. We typically serve this with some sort of crusty bread, celery, and pita/tortilla chips. When I’m not hosting a party, I usually make some and snack on it and use left overs ontop of chicken. This is also keto friendly, which is important to some of my guests.
I love hearing this! It is definitely a crowd pleasing recipe. Thank you for sharing that!
This is our favorite dip to make for parties/entertaining! Love it warm! It is easy to make & great with so many things!
I have to make this only when I am throwing a party, Otherwise I would eat it all myself! It is SO GOOD!
I followed your recipe but ADDed 1 to 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese after seeing many recipes with it. It turned out great!

I usually like it warm, but it definitely could be eaten at room temp 🙂
I’ve been making this exact recipe for so many years. It was passed down to me from family. Been a staple in the family forever! Love it so much. Wish the nutrition label said how much was in each servings. That’s how I came across this page was looking for nutrition on my recipe as I knew many have this same recipe cause it’s so yummy! Best dip ever.
It says 16 servings. Just divide you pan into 16 parts.

Artichokes are not my favorite thing to handle. BUT I’ll do it again and again for a recipe this good! We love to eat the spinach dip at Charlestons and this one is just as great! And cheaper 🙂

Thanks for the spinach artichoke dip recipe. It was one of my favorites 20 and 30 years ago, and I was wondering how much of the other ingredients I put in it. I used to very lightly blanch broccoli spears to use for eating the dip (always interested in health). Love your attitude!
Awe, thank you so much!! I am glad you found this recipe 🙂
Made this for a group gathering and it was delicious! I used fresh spinach that I cooked on the stove top and it turned out great.
Yay!! Love to hear that! Thank you for sharing!
How many recipes of this would a party of 90 people require???
Oh, wow..I haven’t make this for that many. I would maybe triple or quadruple it. I mean..not everyone may want to have it or they may just take a scoop. You could always make more than needed & freeze leftovers. Hope it’s a hit!
I c for ur spinach artichoke dip, it says serve immediatly, Taking this to a potluck, it will sitting in shade for a hr. will it be ok to eat.
Yes, it should be ok 🙂
A great classic recipe for a dip that everyone seems to like, even people who think they don’t like spinach or artichokes. I made this early in the day and kept it in the fridge until an hour before serving. Then I brought it to room temperature and baked for the specified time. You just have to be sure to really squeeze the liquid out of the spinach and artichokes. Thanks for a great recipe!
Thank you so much!! And, yes, squeeze all that liquid out 🙂 I am so glad you liked it!!
If I use fresh spinach do I just need to cook it first?
I would 🙂
This looks delicious. Thank you so much for sharing – there really is nothing like a great spinach artichoke dip. I’ve been wanting to make my own at home for ages now. Can’t wait to try this one and share it with my family!
You will like this one..we do!! Glad to share! Hope you like it!
Made this a few days ago and it was so yummy! The family gobbled it up. I added a sprinkle of garlic powder too since I love garlic. This was so simple and tasty. Thank you.
Yay! I love adding garlic to almost everything! Thanks for giving this a try 🙂

Do you think it would be ok to make it in the oven and transfer to a crock pot on warm? I am bringing to a party, and I’d like for it to stay hot and I am not sure I want to make it in the crockpot, just to stay warm
For sure 🙂 It will be a hit! Have fun!
Yummy! Made it for Thanksgiving get together—everyone loved it! For Christmas lunch they asked me to bring the tasty spinach artichoke dip…making tonight, again for New Year’s Eve. Thank you for sharing!

This dip was a hit! I made this for the first game of the 2017 football season. We enjoyed and I will be making again????
It’s perfect for parties!! I am glad you liked it! Thank you for letting me know!
What type of Mayo should I use?
I just used regular mayo. I like Best Foods, but really any would work 🙂
Any would work. I just used regular mayo. I like Best Foods. Hope that helps!
When you say “mayo” are we talking real mayo or Miracle whip?
Sorry, mayonnaise 🙂
Can you use canned spinach? Or fresh?
We’ve never tried canned spinach, but I’m sure it would work as well as fresh spinach. 😉
How many people will a single batch serve?
I couldn’t say a number, but it makes a good size bowl. It could feed a good size group, if you are serving as an appetizer.
I used one block of cream cheese, I bag of fresh Baby Spinach, and added 2T of Dijon Mustard- all else the same. Delicious!!!
Sounds wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
Can leftover dip be refrigerated and microwaved later?
Of course! 🙂 Enjoy! Let me know what you think!
Fantastic recipe! My family LOVED this! Thank You So Much!
No, thank you so much for trying it! Glad it was a hit with everyone!
Can you use canned spinach?
I made this and it is Such an amazing dip!!The key to a successful dip is to drain the spinach well. Put the pieces on a paper towel , roll it up and squeeeeeeze. This prevents a soggy, wet dip. This dip 11/10!
Yes…that’s the key!! Thanks Oscar!!
Does this dip freeze well if you make ahead?
I haven’t tried yet..anyone else have? I’m thinking it should be ok, but honestly not 100% positive. I’d love to know if you do freeze it.
I did tonight actually! It turned out fantastic! I tweaked it a little bit and didn’t use mayo. But I’m sure it would be wonderful with it! I did it on high for 2 hours and it was delicious! Fast and easy and I didn’t have to worry about keeping it warm!
Yay!! Makes me happy to hear that! Thanks so much for making it and for letting me know!
Hello! Just wondering could you put this is a crock pot and cook it?
I haven’t done it that way, but I’m sure you could!! Maybe on low. Good luck and enjoy!! Thank you for stopping by!
Did u try it in a crockpot? How did it turn out?
I was wondering the same thing! I’m going to try it today 🙂
I have not done this specific recipe in the crock pot, but it should be ok. I would keep it on low.
Can you make this ahead of time and leave in fridge?
Yes you van reheat it. I make it for lunches and snacks and reheat through the week. It’s amazing.
Amazing recipe! Best I’ve found yet! Can I reheat it twice?
Does anyone know if I can make it the night before and cook the next day?
I made it the night before but I did not cook it I just put it in the refrigerator overnight. I cooked it the next day right before the party. It turned out just fine.
You can never beat a good spinach artichoke dip. Perfect for football-watching Sundays!
Possibly my favorite dip ever!!! And this looks so good! Pass me the chips, a bowl of this and I’m set 🙂
