Why is it called crack dip?

“Crack” is actually a term used for a certain combination of ingredients: cheese, Ranch seasoning, and bacon. Put that in dip form, and you’ll realize that the crack flavor combo is AMAZING!

The warm and gooey cheese and crispy salted bacon really send this crack chicken dip over the top! Dip in your favorite crackers, veggies, chips (we love Fritos), or bread, and it will disappear in no time.

WHY WE LOVE IT:

  • So dippable. Crack chicken dip is perfect for dipping Homemade Tortilla Chips or slices of French Bread. That warm cheesy goodness is perfection!
  • 5-minute prep. This popular appetizer is also simple and quick making it great for busy holidays and get-togethers.
  • Flavor trifecta. Cheese, bacon, and Ranch – what more could you ask for?

The list of ingredients calls for only one cup of shredded cheese, yet the instructions say this:

Combine cream cheese, Ranch dressing mix, chopped bacon, 1 cup of the cheese (remaining will be reserved for the top)…

Where does the remaining cheese for the top come from if all that’s listed for the entire recipe is one cup?

    1. Lil'Luna Team says:

Thanks for pointing that out! We’ll get the post updated. For now, if you like it extra cheesy, use that full 1 cup and a little more sprinked on the top. Otherwise, use 3/4 cup in the casserole and the last 1/4 for the top.
