A favorite side!

Creamed Corn has become one of our go-to side dishes for many of our holidays and family gatherings. Because we are looking for ways to free up the stove and oven on those buy day, we knew a crockpot version would be extra handy.

This crock pot creamed corn is the perfect solution. It’s creamy and buttery and is the perfect side for your Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner menus. It’s prepped in only 10 minutes, perfect for whipping up ahead of time, and it saves oven space!

WHY WE LOVE IT:

  • Only 2 steps. The prep takes just a few minutes (packaged frozen corn for the win)!
  • Set it and forget it! The crock pot does ALL of the work. It’s a super easy side, great for busy holiday meals.
  • Creamy and flavorful. The homemade cream sauce is absolutely delicious and will leave you wanting more!
Ingredients for making slow cooker creamed corn measured out on the counter.

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces frozen corn kernels or fresh kernels off the cob
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • ยฝ cup butter unsalted or salted
  • ยฝ cup milk – We like whole milk for the creamiest dish, but 2% works.
  • 1 tablespoons sugar
  • ยผ teaspoon black pepper Add heat with cayenne pepper or red chili flakes.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Reduce if using salted butter.
  • optional garnish – cooked crumbled bacon, chopped green onions, parmesan cheese, parsley

How to Make Crock Pot Creamed Corn

  1. SAUCE. Use a medium-sized saucepan to heat 8 ounces of cream cheese, ยฝ cup butter, ยฝ cup milk, 1 tablespoon sugar, ยผ teaspoon pepper, and 1 teaspoon salt. Mix until well blended.
  2. CORN. Place 16 ounces of frozen corn in the slow cooker and cover it with the cream cheese mixture. Cook on HIGH for 1 hour or LOW for 2-3 hours. Mix before serving.

PRO TIP: How to THicken

  • Uncover the crockpot and cook on HIGH for another 15 minutes to allow moisture to evaporate. As it cools down, the corn will thicken even more.
  • Use an immersion blender to cream a small portion of the corn, then stir it in with the rest of the dish.
