What is Oreo Fluff?

Oreo fluff is heaven in a bowl!

Use this whipped pudding dessert for dipping fresh fruit or pretzels, or as a light and tasty mousse enjoyed simply on its own! We love to serve this sweet dip at BBQs, family get-togethers, or any time we have a sweet craving.

We especially love that this fluff has a light and creamy texture, similar to a sweet “salad” (like our Cheesecake Fruit Salad). We have a feeling you’ll love this Oreo-filled treat as much as we do!

WHY WE LOVE IT:

  • Dessert dip. This Oreo dip is delicious on its own or can be eaten with an assortment of dippables.
  • So easy. Using only 5 ingredients, this dip is quick and easy to make. The hard part is waiting for it to chill.
  • Use any Oreo cookies. Try additional Oreo flavors like strawberry or birthday cake. The flavor possibilities are endless!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups milk whole milk makes a creamier dessert than skim milk
  • 2 (3.4 ounces) packages of Instant Vanilla Pudding – You can use white chocolate pudding, cheesecake pudding, or Oreo pudding, but be sure you use INSTANT pudding.
  • 2 (8 ounce) tubs Whipped Topping – such as Cool Whip
  • 30 chocolate sandwich cookies such as Oreos, crushed – no need to remove the frosting center before crushing. Decide how fine you want to crush the cookies. For finer crumbs use a food processor or place the Oreos in a Ziploc and crush them with a rolling pin.
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened – This is an optional ingredient and the fluff tastes great with or without it.
  • optional mix-ins – Add mini marshmallows or edible cookie dough balls.

Oreo Variations

We used regular chocolate Oreo cookies, but you can use double stuf. If you use Oreo Thins, I recommend increasing the amount to 40 cookies. Other options include:

  • Gluten-free
  • Generic brand chocolate sandwich cookies
  • Different flavors of Oreos: Mint Oreos, Golden Oreos

How to Make Oreo Fluff

  1. COMBINE. In a chilled large mixing bowl, stir 4 cups milk, and 2 packages of pudding powder. Mix until you get a pudding consistency. (Stir in the optional 4-ounces cream cheese. See below for details)
    • FOLD in 16 ounces of whipped cream topping.
    • Add the 30 crushed Oreos. Stir until combined throughout.
    • Cover the bowl with plastic and chill for at least 1 hour or overnight.
    • Optional: To make this creamier, add softened cream cheese. Beat the cream cheese until smooth and stir it into the pudding mixture before you add the whipped cream.
  2. Serve chilled with your favorite dippables like apple slices, strawberries or just eat it with a spoon!

Oreo fluff is a creamy, dreamy dessert filled with crushed Oreos for a no-bake dippable dream that's ready in only 10 minutes!
Servings: 12
Prep: 10 minutes
Chill Time: 1 hour
Total: 1 hour 10 minutes

Notes

Pudding. You must use INSTANT pudding powder, otherwise, it will be soupy and won’t ever set.
Oreos. When crushing the Oreos, you do not need to remove the cream filling. Decide how fine you want to crush the cookies. For finer crumbs use a food processor or place the Oreos in a Ziploc and crush them with a rolling pin.
Store the Oreo fluff, covered, for up to 3 days. If the larger chunks soften, simply add a few more. I do not recommend freezing, as it will not thaw with its signature fluffy texture.

Recipe FAQ

Why is my Oreo Fluff recipe runny?

There could be a few reasons! First, be sure to use instant pudding mix, otherwise, it will not set correctly and will yield a soupy dessert. Make sure you use a chilled metal bowl to keep the cream cold. Lastly, pay attention to the mixing instructions and FOLD only when directed.

Make ahead of time?

Make this easy Oreo fluff dessert up to 1-2 days ahead of time. I would reserve some of the Oreos to add right before serving because they can tend to soften while being stored.

How to store Oreo Fluff?

Cover and store in the fridge for up to 3 days. You may notice that the larger chunks of Oreos will soften. However, it’s still delicious and you can always add more fresh Oreos to get that extra texture.

How to freeze?

This Oreo dessert recipe is best when served freshly made. I do not recommend freezing the fluff as it will thaw with a different consistency. However, it is safe to freeze so if the consistency doesn’t matter to you it can be frozen for 2-3 weeks. In fact, it makes delicious popsicles.
