We Love This Family Favorite!

Our family loves to get together and eat all food, but Mexican food is our favorite! With those main dishes like Beef Enchiladas and Beef Empanadas, we always have some scrumptious sides to go along with it like this 7 layer bean dip.

It is one of those appetizers that we always seem to have when we are eating Mexican food, especially for Cinco de Mayo.

Why we love it:

  • Quick and easy. This bean dip comes together in minutes!
  • Customizable. Easily change up the layers to your personal preferences.
  • A favorite. It’s perfect for summer potlucks and family gatherings or for any Mexican meal – it’s definitely a favorite Mexican appetizer.

7 Delicious Layers

  • Frito Lay bean dip or refried beans
  • guacamole – store bought or Homemade Guacamole
  • sour cream or Greek yogurt.
  • mayonnaise
  • Taco Seasoning A package of taco seasoning contains about 2 tablespoons of seasoning.
  • shredded cheese Mexican blend, cheddar cheese, or Monterey Cheese are our favorites.
  • black olives- sliced
  • tomatoes use chopped roma tomatoes, halved grape, and Roma tomatoes. You can also use Salsa.
  • green onions

Other toppings include: chopped avocado, cilantro, green chiles, chopped jalapeรฑos, lime wedges, sprinkle of chili powder, Cotija cheese.

How to Make 7 Layer Bean Dip

Storing Tips

The dip needs at least an hour to chill before serving but can be made up to 24 hours in advance.

  • Make ahead of time. If covered with plastic wrap, this layered bean dip recipe can be made up to 24 hours in advance. Wait to add chopped tomatoes and the greens (cilantro, green onions, etc) until right before serving.
  • STORE. Leftover 7-layer dip can be stored in an airtight container for up to 48 hours in the fridge. The guac makes it harder to last longer, but it can be enjoyed the next day.

What size dish do you recommend for the amounts of ingredients given?

It honestly depends on how thick you want your dip, so you could use a variety of sizes. But an 8×8 dish works great!!
