BBQ Bacon Wrapped Chicken Bites Ingredients

  • Boneless, skinless chicken breasts (2–3, cut into 1-inch pieces)- Chicken is a lean, tender protein that bakes juicy and cooks evenly in bite-sized pieces.
  • Bacon (8-ounces, cut into thirds)- Bacon adds salty, smoky flavor and renders fat that keeps the chicken moist while turning crisp on the edges.
  • BBQ sauce (½ to 1 cup)- The sauce adds a sweet and tangy glaze that caramelizes in the oven. Brush before and after baking for extra sauciness. Our favorite brand is Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce
  • Toothpicks in place of skewers hold each bite together and make serving easy.

Kristyn’s Recipe Tips

  • Do not overlap the bacon too much; a single wrap helps it crisp while the chicken cooks through.
  • Line the pan with foil and spray. The glaze gets sticky, and this makes cleanup simple.
  • Brush once before baking, then again right after for a glossy finish and big barbecue flavor.
  • Keep warm for serving by transferring cooked bites to a slow cooker set to warm, they stay saucy and tender.

Wonderful recipe! The Chicken and bacon duo is heavenly and the recipe looks mesmerizing. I would love to make a healthy addition to this recipe. While baking I would add some pure ghee. Ghee oil boosts the flavor of any dish, making it healthier. And the nutty aroma of ghee will melt with bbq sauce and chicken wrapped with bacon!

  2. Darla says:

how long would you cook these in an air fryer?

    1. Lil'Luna Team says:

You know, I haven’t tried them in the air fryer yet, so I’m not 100% sure. Maybe 390 degrees for 10ish minutes? Something in that range. You may have to play around with the cook time a little.

    1. Kristyn Merkley says:

Nope, since 350 is too high, it’s the perfect temp to keep them nice & juicy still. Hope you try them!

One of the best game day recipes

  10. Marina says:

How many people would this serve?

    1. Kristyn Merkley says:

Oh, man..it just depends on how many they eat!! They are so good, that they are gone in minutes! You could maybe get like 10 pieces out of one chicken breast, so that’s close to 30 pieces.

  11. Meagan says:

How much counts as a serving? Does it make 20-30 individual bites? I’m making them for a baby shower with 100 guests. So I’m trying to figure out how much food to get.

    1. Lil' Luna says:

I would count it as each chicken breast, you could maybe get close to 10 cubes. So, depending on if you want your guests to have a couple?? If you are having more appetizers, I wouldn’t feel like I needed as much. Maybe double or you could triple, if you want plenty. Hope that helps you! Have fun and good luck 🙂

  12. Ewa says:

Do you soke the toothpicks in water or are they fine in the oven without soaking
