If you’re from Arizona or Utah, you probably know a thing or two about fry sauce.
The version we all know and LOVE was first served at Carlos’ Barbeque, which eventually became the fast food chain, Arctic Circle.
This dip may have started as a regional thing, but this magical dipping condiment has grown in popularity and is even found on store shelves. However, our homemade version is the way to go!
Ours tastes just as good as the original (if not better) and is SO delicious. It’s flavorful and quick – ready in no time for all of your dipping needs.
We love pairing this with our Homemade French Fries, Crispy Sweet Potato Fries, or topping a tasty burger!.
Why we think you’ll love it:
- Simple ingredients. This sauce only uses a handful of ingredients, most of which you have in your pantry.
- Ready when you need it. This sauce is whips up in 5 minutes! That’s faster than a trip to the store.
- Dip it ALL. Fry sauce is most notably used with French fries, but we love dipping Chicken Nuggets, Hamburgers, onion rings, tater tots, wraps – you name it!

Kristyn’s Recipe Tips
- While variations can be used, for the best result, we recommend using the main ingredients listed.
- Let the fry sauce chill in the refrigerator before serving. This allows the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly.
- This dip is classically served with French Fries and onion rings but can also be used with Hamburgers, Chicken Strips, Corn Dogs, and more.
