Ooey Gooey Treats To Love!

Who here loves LUCKY CHARMS?! It’s a cereal the whole family loves.

Honestly though, we love ALL treats, especially Rice Krispies Treats, so we combined these two loves to make Lucky Charms Rice Krispie Treats – a new favorite dessert.

We took that ooey gooey classic and changed it up with our favorite cereal. It’s still quick (ready in 15 minutes) and easy (only 3 ingredients) but has a little something extra special.

If you love a classic Rice Krispie Treat or Fruity Pebble Treats, you’ll love this simple twist!

WHY WE LOVE IT:

  • Few Ingredients. Lucky Charms bars take 15 minutes to make with only 3 ingredients!
  • Great for little helpers. Cereal treats are so simple that it’s a go-to easy dessert for kids to make.
  • Any day. This is a family favorite for St. Patrick’s Day but delicious snacking all year long!

Ingredients

  • 11-12 cups Lucky Charms Cereal General Mills will sometimes make an all-green St. Patrick’s Day version of their Lucky Charm Cereal which would be fun. Store-brand versions of this cereal also work in this recipe.
  • 16 ounces large (Jumbo) marshmallows or 16 ounces mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons butter I like unsalted butter, but you can use salted butter. Or try a dairy-free butter substitute.
  • vanilla extract, optional

How to Make Lucky Charms Treats

  1. PREP. Grease a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set aside (or line the pan with wax or a piece of parchment paper). Pour 11-12 cups of Lucky Charms marshmallows cereal into a large bowl.
  2. HEAT. Add 16 ounces of large marshmallows and 3 tablespoons of butter to a large bowl and microwave for 2-3 minutes.
  3. SERVE. Stir the melted marshmallow mixture until creamy (add vanilla extract here if adding) and pour over Lucky Charms. Use a silicone spatula to mix and evenly coat the cereal then lightly press the cereal mixture in an even layer into the prepared pan. Let set and enjoy!
    • You can use a sharp knife to cut cereal bars into squares or a large Shamrock-shaped cookie cutter.

Stove Top Directions

Melt the butter in a large saucepan or large pot over medium heat. Stir in the marshmallows and heat until gooey and smooth. Stir frequently so the mixture does not scorch on the bottom. Remove from heat, add to the cereal, and mix.

I made these last month to take to my dads for St. Patrick’s Day. They were really good and looked super fun.
I did press some in a 9 x 13 pan as well as a 9 inch pie dish so they weren’t quite as thick. And my daughters drizzled green white chocolate over the top.
