An easy game day-inspired veggie tray is perfect for any occasion or party! Grab your friends and gather around for good food.
A fresh veggie tray is a great start to an appetizer spread. We love to add in other favorites like Dill Veggie Dip and Cheesy Spinach Dip!
Party Perfect!
When special occasions (holidays like Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or game day) comes along, we always have so much fun creating a menu packed with appetizers, but one of the things we always like to serve is veggies!
One of my favorite ways to serve veggies is on a veggie tray or a Charcuterie Board.
Why we love it:
- So easy. It only takes a few minutes to put together – super quick prep time.
- Change it up. Add just about anything you want.
- Make it pretty. Once veggies are prepped, arrange them in any kind of fun design.
All your guests, and even kids will find themselves eating veggies from these trays!
Ingredients
- celery stalk – or add radishes, snap peas, green beans, cucumbers
- baby carrots – or carrot sticks
- broccoli florets – or cauliflower florets
- cherry tomatoes – or grape tomatoes
- bell pepper – Use yellow, red, green, orange, or mini peppers. Prepare one bell pepper for each flavor of dip you wish to serve.
- vegetable dip – You can do Ranch Dip, Dill Dip, Hummus, or Guacamole.
Veggie Tray ASsembly
- PREP. Rinse and prep all veggies.
- Hollow out a bell pepper. Cut the top off of the pepper. Use a spoon to scrape the inside of the pepper to remove all the “white” lining as well as the seeds.
- Dip. Any vegetable dip or sauces can be used to fill the bell peppers.
- Herbs. Garnish trays with fresh herbs and spices for decorative purposes.
ChanGe it Up!
Add crackers. Add crackers, cheese, or ham to the large platter to make it more of a Charcuterie Board or crudite platter. Assemble the platter the day before with meats and cheeses, but add the crackers right before serving.
Different vegetables. Change it up and include your favorites! Olives and pickles could even be added.
Vegetable Platter dips
Even though store-bought tips work great for this best veggie tray, we do love to make some homemade veggie dips too.
Some of our favorites include:
Veggie TRAY Ideas
- Game Day Tray.
- Line the short edges with celery.
- For a Football Add the carrots in a football shape in the center of the platter. Fill the remaining space with broccoli.
- Add the bell peppers to look like the stitching on a football. Line the edge of the football with cherry tomatoes.
- Turkey Veggie Tray
- Line a circular tray with cut up cucumbers, carrots, pepper slices, broccoli and sugar snap peas.
- Add a bowl at the base with dip and make a turkey face with the bottom of a bell pepper.
- Christmas Tree platter
- Line a platter sugar snap peas and top with broccoli, peppers and cherry tomatoes.
- Make a star with yellow pepper strips for the top.
Storing Tips
- Make this ahead of time. Assemble veggie platters the day before and keep it loosely covered in the refrigerator.
- STORE. Disassemble the veggies into groups of leftovers to put in the fridge, or cover the pan and refrigerate it as a whole.
