A Fun Way to Eat Pizza!

We first tried this pull apart pizza bread at a friend’s house and were immediately hooked!!! It’s such a FUN way to eat pizza. The kids love to pull and dip – who wouldn’t?!

Pull-apart pizza is soft and fluffy, filled with cheese and pepperoni, and perfect dipped in a Marinara Sauce or even Homemade Ranch! You can easily add your favorite toppings too (sometimes we add olives, peppers or other meats).

Better yet, there are just a handful of ready-made ingredients and it’s prepped in MINUTES making it not only a tasty appetizer but an easy main dish!

  • 4 main ingredients. We used ready-made biscuits and Pizza Sauce to keep things extra simple.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter, melted We used unsalted butter but salted butter can be used.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Italian pizza seasoning – store-bought or homemade Pizza Seasoning
  • 2 (16.3-ounce) cans biscuit dough, cut into quarters or 32 ounces of Homemade Biscuit dough, cut into 64 pieces
  • 1 cup pepperoni Add bacon bits, sausage crumbles, Canadian bacon, mushrooms, bell peppers, jalapenos, or other favorite pizza toppings.
  • 2-2½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese or your favorite pizza cheese
  • 1 cup pizza sauce, marinara, or ranch – store-bought or Homemade Pizza Sauce, Marinara Sauce, or Ranch Dressing

How to Make Pull Apart Pizza Bread

  1. PREP. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. ASSEMBLE. In a large bowl, add ½ cup melted butter, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1 tablespoon pizza seasoning and mix well.
    • Add cut-up biscuit pieces from 2 cans of biscuit dough, 1 cup of pepperoni slices, and 2-2 ½ cups of shredded mozzarella. Mix to combine until all the cubes are coated with the garlic butter.
    • Place a ramekin sprayed with cooking spray upside down in the middle of a greased 10-inch springform pan. Place biscuit mixture into prepared pan surrounding ramekin.
  3. BAKE. Tent pan with aluminum foil and bake for 40-45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
    • Release the springform cake pan, flip the ramekin over, and fill it with dipping sauce. Serve warm.

Use a Different Pan

Use a 9 in x 2.75 in round cake pan. Line the Pan with Parchment Paper before filling. You can also use a bundt pan or a flute pan, and serve the dipping sauce on the side instead of the center.

Ingredients 

  • ½ cup butter, melted

  • 1 tablespoon Italian pizza seasoning

  • 1 cup pepperoni
  • 2-2½ cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1 cup pizza sauce, or marinara, or ranch

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a large bowl, add melted butter, garlic powder, and pizza seasoning and mix well.
  • Add cut-up biscuit pieces, pepperoni, and shredded mozzarella. Mix to combine until all coated.
  • Place a ramekin sprayed with cooking spray upside down in the middle of a greased 10-inch springform pan. Place biscuit mixture into prepared pan surrounding ramekin.
  • Tent pan with foil and bake for 40-45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Release the springform cake pan, flip the ramekin back over, and fill with ranch or marinara. Serve warm.

Notes

Homemade dough. Mix up about 30 ounces of Homemade Biscuit dough, cut into 60-64 pieces.
Bake in a regular pan. Use a 9 in x 2.75 in round cake pan. Line the Pan with Parchment Paper before filling.
Prep ahead. Prepare this 2-3 hours ahead of time, cover it, and store it in the fridge until ready to bake.
How to store. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2-3 days, or in a freezer-safe container and freeze for 1-2 months. Store the dipping sauce in an airtight container.
