Whether we are making our own Homemade Pizza Dough or using a shortcut with our kids’ FAVORITE pizza casserole – pizza night is always a win!
When we don’t have time for homemade Pepperoni Pizza, our go-to is this pizza casserole. It’s prepped in under 10 minutes and is SO easy to assemble. Our kids often whip this up themselves – it’s perfect for sharing with friends, especially since it’s ready to devour in only 30 minutes.
Because it’s so easy, we often have this as a weeknight dinner. The ingredients are simple, and it makes a pan-full so there’s plenty for everyone! This is definitely a family favorite!

Pizza Casserole Ingredients and Substitutions
- 1 (16.3-ounce) can refrigerator Grands Biscuits – or use Homemade Pizza Dough. Pinch off 64 small pieces that are 7 grams each.
- 1 (8-ounce) jar pizza sauce – Classico marinara sauce, homemade Pizza Sauce, or White Pizza Sauce
- 3 cups Mozzarella cheese – or Burrata cheese
- 1 teaspoon pizza seasoning – store-bought or Homemade Pizza Seasoning
- pizza toppings – use your favorite toppings
How to Make Pizza Casserole
- PREP. Preheat oven to 375°F.
- COMBINE. Cut the biscuits into 8 parts each. Add those to a bowl and mix with pizza sauce and half of the shredded Mozzarella cheese. Mix this well and pour into a greased 9×13 casserole dish.
- BAKE. Top with the remaining shredded cheese and pepperoni slices. Sprinkle pizza seasoning on top. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until the biscuits are cooked and the cheese is melted.
Kristyn’s Recipe Tips
- To bake smaller sizes, divide the ingredients evenly using two 8-inch square baking dishes and bake for 18-20 minutes. Serve one, and cool and freeze the other for later.
- We use refrigerated buttermilk biscuit dough, but flaky biscuits or even pizza dough can be used.
- The sauce may cause the biscuit pieces to be tacky on the outside, but the interior will be fully cooked. For further baking, tent a piece of tin foil over the top until cooked through.

- Supreme. Italian sausage crumbles, ground beef crumbles, mushrooms, bell peppers, red onions
- Hawaiian. ham and pineapple, and green bell peppers for even more flavor
- Veggie. green peppers, red onions, black olives, mushrooms, Roma tomatoes
- BBQ chicken. Use 1 cup of BBQ Sauce instead of pizza sauce and top with shredded chicken and chopped basil

Recipe FAQ
Prep and store covered, in the fridge until ready to bake. If needed, add a couple more minutes to the baking time to account for the chilled ingredients.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
Cover the cooled casserole with plastic wrap and again with foil and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw before reheating in the oven.

Great recipe! When do you add the pizza seasoning?
You can sprinkle it on top before baking. You can also add it to the sauce as you mix the biscuits in it. Either way!! The seasoning just adds a bit more flavor. You can omit if you prefer, too.
