Hi Everyone. I am so excited to be back with you. Jenny Raulli of Bloom Designs Online here to share some simple Fourth of July cakes made with one of my favorite party styling secrets. For me, summer entertaining needs to be simple, easy and stress free. I would much rather be outside with my kids enjoying the amazing weather than stuck by the oven. So to simplify my party, I often order a plain white frosted cake from my local market or bakery for dessert. Cakes hold up generally well in the hot weather and most grocery store bakeries can make a pretty decent cake. The trick is to take this premade cake and fancy it up a bit to fit your party. Here are two ways that I took my grocery store cake and prettied it up for the Fourth of July.
I simply re-plated the cake onto a a nice white cake stand and edged the bottom with red mini gum balls to give it a finished look. Then I cut, glued and inserted my printables into the cake.
Download the free printable by right clicking on the image and saving to your computer. Open the document and print on card stock. The star burst and bunting work well in other foods as well- a fruit platter, homemade apple pie, even on a cheese tray.
Serve with or without ice cream and your guest will be happy:) and you won’t even have to break a sweat. Thanks for stopping by today! Come visit me on Bloom Designs Online for more easy entertaining ideas.
