Buffalo Chicken Pizza Ingredients

  • Pizza dough (1 ball)- The dough forms the crisp yet chewy base, sturdy enough to hold saucy toppings while staying tender. We have a great Homemade Pizza Dough recipe we love to use. If you buy dough from the store, consult the directions on the package when making this recipe.
  • Shredded cooked chicken (2 cups)- The chicken adds hearty protein and soaks up the buffalo sauce for flavorful bites in every slice. We like to cook the chicken at home or grab a rotisserie chicken to shred.
  • Buffalo sauce (⅓ cup)- The sauce delivers the signature spicy, tangy kick that defines the pizza. Look for buffalo wing sauce that will match your desired amount of heat, or make Buffalo Sauce at home to your exact preferences.
  • Blue cheese dressing (¼ cup)- The dressing creates a creamy layer that cools the heat and helps the toppings adhere. You can also use Ranch Dressing.
  • Blue cheese crumbles (¼ cup)- The crumbles melt into salty, tangy pockets that echo classic buffalo wing vibes.
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (2 tablespoons)- Cilantro brightens the rich flavors with a fresh herbal finish.

How to Make Buffalo Chicken Pizza

PREP. Preheat the oven to 500°F with a pizza stone or overturned cookie sheet inside. Stretch the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle on a sheet of parchment paper dusted with cornmeal (or bake the pizza on a pizza pan instead).

SAUCE. Spread the blue cheese dressing over the pizza.

ASSEMBLE. In a small bowl, toss the chicken with the buffalo sauce. Then top with the shredded chicken. Sprinkle the blue cheese crumbles over the top.

BAKE. Bake for 9-11 minutes in the preheated oven or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle it with the cilantro. Serve hot.

  1. Par-bake the plain pizza crust for 5-7 minutes. 
  2. Allow to cool and place the crust on a freezer-safe aluminum baking tray or a clean piece of cardboard.
  3. Put on the toppings and place in the freezer for about 2 hours.
  4. Once completely frozen, wrap it tightly with plastic wrap, then again with aluminum foil. Label and freeze for 3-6 months. 
  5. Thaw on the counter for about 30 minutes before baking in a 400°F oven for about 15-20 minutes or until warm throughout.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days or freeze for 1-2 months. For best results, reheat in the toaster oven or oven. If you’re in a hurry, you can use the microwave.
