Easy cheesy pizza casserole is prepped in 5 minutes and only requires 5 ingredients for a dinner win!
Who Doesn’t Love Pizza?!
We are pizza lovers – especially making or own with Homemade Pizza Dough!
Having said that, we don’t always have time for homemade Pepperoni Pizza and when that’s the case, our go-to is this pizza casserole.
It’s a great dinner idea for kids, but it’s so simple the kids can even make it themselves (our 3 oldest take turns making this one. It’s definitely a family fav!
Why we love it:
- So easy the kids can do it. With simple steps, this recipe takes just 5 minutes of prep time, which makes it an AH-MAZING easy dinner idea.
- Flavor variations. Casseroles are by nature versatile, and this pizza version is no different! Just top it with your favorites and make it your own.
- Family-friendly. It’s easy, it’s cheesy – it’s delicious. The entire family loves it.
Ingredients
PREP TIME: 8 minutes
COOK TIME: 22 minutes
- 1 (16.3-ounce) can refrigerator Grand Biscuits – or use Homemade Pizza Dough. Pinch off 64 small pieces that are 7 grams each.
- 1 (8-ounce) jar pizza sauce – we like Classico if going store-bought, or our homemade Pizza Sauce Recipe (or White Pizza Sauce).
- 3 cups Mozzarella cheese – burrata cheese is another Italian cheese that melts well.
- 1 teaspoon pizza seasoning – store-bought or Homemade Pizza Seasoning
- pizza toppings – use your favorite toppings
How to Make Pizza Casserole
- PREP. Preheat oven to 375°F.
- COMBINE. Cut the 8 biscuits into 8 parts each. Add those to a bowl and mix with 8 ounces pizza sauce (we like Classico if going store-bought but also have a Homemade Pizza Sauce Recipe) and 1½ cups shredded Mozzarella cheese. Mix this well and pour into a greased 9×13 baking dish.
- BAKE. Top this with another 1½ cups of shredded cheese and pepperoni slices. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon pizza seasoning on top. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown and cheese begins to brown.

Notes
- Smaller pan. Divide the ingredients evenly using two 8-inch square baking dishes and bake for 18-20 minutes. Serve one, and cool and freeze the other for later.
- We love classic pepperoni, but any favorite pizza toppings can be used.
- We use refrigerated buttermilk biscuit dough, but flaky biscuits or even pizza dough can be used.
- The sauce may cause the biscuit pieces to be tacky on the outside, but the interior will be fully cooked. For further baking, tent a piece of tin foil over the top until cooked through.

Recipe FAQ
Can I make a half-size pizza casserole?
- Divide the easy pizza casserole recipe in half. Prepare the ingredients evenly using two 8-inch square baking dishes and bake for 15-18 minutes. Serve one, and store the other for later.
Can I make pizza casserole ahead of time?
- Prep the pizza a day ahead of time. Store, covered, in the fridge until you’re ready to bake. If needed, add a couple more minutes to the bake time to account for the chilled ingredients.
