We are pizza LOVERS, and we are casserole lovers, so what happens when you combine the two?! Pure pizza casserole magic!
Whether we are making our own Homemade Pizza Dough or using a shortcut with our kids’ FAVORITE pizza casserole – pizza night is always a win!
When we don’t have time for homemade Pepperoni Pizza, our go-to is this pizza casserole. It’s prepped in under 10 minutes and is SO easy to assemble. Our kids often whip this up themselves – it’s perfect for sharing with friends, especially since it’s ready to devour in only 30 minutes.
Because it’s so easy, we often have this as a weeknight dinner. The ingredients are simple, and it makes a pan-full so there’s plenty for everyone! This is definitely a family favorite!
Some more pizza recipes your family will be sure to love include Pepperoni Grilled Cheese Pizza, Pull Apart Pizza Bread, and a delicious Strawberry Nutella Pizza for dessert.
Why we think you’ll love it:
- So easy the kids can do it. With simple steps, this recipe takes just 8 minutes of prep time, which makes it an AH-MAZING easy dinner idea.
- Flavor variations. Casseroles are, by nature, versatile, and this pizza version is no different! Just top it with your favorites and make it your own.
- Family-friendly. It’s easy, it’s cheesy – it’s delicious. The entire family loves it.
Pizza Casserole Ingredients and Substitutions
- 1 (16.3-ounce) can refrigerator Grands Biscuits – or use Homemade Pizza Dough. Pinch off 64 small pieces that are 7 grams each.
- 1 (8-ounce) jar pizza sauce – Classico marinara sauce, homemade Pizza Sauce, or White Pizza Sauce
- 3 cups Mozzarella cheese – or Burrata cheese
- 1 teaspoon pizza seasoning – store-bought or Homemade Pizza Seasoning
- pizza toppings – use your favorite toppings
How to Make Pizza Casserole
- PREP. Preheat oven to 375°F.
- COMBINE. Cut the biscuits into 8 parts each. Add those to a bowl and mix with pizza sauce and half of the shredded Mozzarella cheese. Mix this well and pour into a greased 9×13 casserole dish.
- BAKE. Top with the remaining shredded cheese and pepperoni slices. Sprinkle pizza seasoning on top. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until the biscuits are cooked and the cheese is melted.
Kristyn’s Recipe Tips
- To bake smaller sizes, divide the ingredients evenly using two 8-inch square baking dishes and bake for 18-20 minutes. Serve one, and cool and freeze the other for later.
- We use refrigerated buttermilk biscuit dough, but flaky biscuits or even pizza dough can be used.
- The sauce may cause the biscuit pieces to be tacky on the outside, but the interior will be fully cooked. For further baking, tent a piece of tin foil over the top until cooked through.
Other Favorite Pizza Toppings
- Meat lovers. pepperoni, ham, beef, Italian sausage, bacon
- Supreme. Italian sausage crumbles, ground beef crumbles, mushrooms, bell peppers, red onions
- Hawaiian. ham and pineapple, and green bell peppers for even more flavor
- Veggie. green peppers, red onions, black olives, mushrooms, Roma tomatoes
- BBQ chicken. Use 1 cup of BBQ Sauce instead of pizza sauce and top with shredded chicken and chopped basil

Thanks my grandkids will love it.
This was a great fast meal to make. Had teenage grandkids over and they loved it. Made a salad with it too. Thanks for the recipe!
Great recipe! When do you add the pizza seasoning?
You can sprinkle it on top before baking. You can also add it to the sauce as you mix the biscuits in it. Either way!! The seasoning just adds a bit more flavor. You can omit if you prefer, too.
This was so easy and I’m just 10
Can I use pizza dough as no biscuits available and do I need to bake dough first or just combine everything?
Can I make this a day before and keep in fridge?
Yes! Just store it covered in the fridge until you’re ready to bake. You may need to add a couple more minutes to the bake time to account for the chilled ingredients.
I was looking for a quick, easy Friday night recipe when I came across this. It is really good. We are not casserole people necessarily, but this made us one. The recipe was easy and fast. We enjoyed it a lot, and I will be making it again soon. The only changes I made were using the 5 count biscuits and an 8×8 pan since we only have 3 to feed. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

If you wanted to avoid all the carbs in the biscuits, could you use a can of refrigerated pizza dough? Has anyone tried something like that? Would you need to pre-bake the crust before adding all the ingredients? Thanks!
Should I use the Grands southern homestyle biscuits or the flaky layers? Does anyone know what biscuit was used in the pictures?
