FAQs
It’s best to start planning your menu at least 2-3 weeks before Thanksgiving. This gives you time to finalize dishes, shop for ingredients, and make any preparations, especially if you’re accommodating dietary restrictions.
Plan for about 1 to 1.5 pounds of turkey per person. For side dishes, a half-cup to one cup per person is usually enough, depending on how many sides you offer.
Dishes like casseroles, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and pies can be made 1-2 days in advance. You can also prep ingredients, like chopping vegetables or making dough, a day before.
Clean out the fridge to make plenty of room for storage.
Don’t wait until the last minute to grocery shop! Stores get crowded, and food runs out, especially for the holidays! Buy non-perishable items like canned goods and frozen items weeks in advance.
Adding fresh herbs or fruits like cranberries and oranges to your platters and tables makes it extra beautiful!
