Have any of you ever tried the Molten Lava Cake desserts from Chilis?
Well, if not, you must! It’s a yummy cake with “lava” (melted chocolate or white chocolate in the middle). So YUMMY!
Recently, I saw a recipe via Pinterest for Chocolate Chip Lava Cookies. It took me to Kevin & Amanda (a site I have loved for a long time!!) I decided then and there I was making the recipe that day, but instead I wanted to do a white chocolate version (I know, I know – I’m obsessed with white chocolate – it’s true!!)
And keeping with the Chocolate Chip theme this week, here is how you can make White Chocolate Lava Cookie Cups!!
White Chocolate Lava Cookies

White Chocolate Lava Cookie Cups that are so delish and perfect with ice cream!!

- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 3 cups flour

- Make your favorite cookie dough! Mine is this one. To start, cream butter, oil and sugars. Add eggs and beat until fluffy. Add remaining ingredients including some white chocolate chips.
- Spoon 1.5 TB of cookie dough into a muffin pan. Press down.
- Melt your white chocolate chips in a bowl in the microwave and add to a ziplock bag. Cut the corner and squeeze onto the centers of your cookie cups.
- Spoon another small scoop of cookie dough over the top of your chocolate and press down.
- Bake at 350 for 15-18 minutes.

Oh man, it is GOOOOOOD! Seriously, though… if you like white chocolate you will love this. And the butterscotch sauce on top was a yummy added touch.
I fell in love with the white chocolate molten cake from Chili’s and went through withdrawal when they took it off the menu. Luckily, I found the recipe online and can now have it whenever I want it – that is if I have the time. This recipe seems like it can be done fairly quickly and it sounds like its just as delicious. I may have a new favorite! I’m going to have to try these! Thank you for sharing!

I was SO sad as well to find out it was no longer on the menu! Would you be able to send me the link to the recipe you use? I am DYING to make it (and maybe post it on here)
And these were so easy and just as good. Nothing better than white chocolate.
I printed the recipe a while back, but didn’t save the link. However, I ended up buyng the book from which the original recipe came. It’s called “Top Secret Restaurant Recipes 3″ by Todd Wilbur. I’ve tried several of the recipes fron his series. They are so spot-on that I had chosen some of my favorites and put them on my blog schedule – the white chocolate molten cake was one of them! I’ll move that one up to this week for you. Luckily my husband starts his vacation tomorrow and we have family coming to visit, so I won’t be tempted to eat them all by myself!

Question – After you put the melted chocolate in on your 1.5 T of pressed down cookie dough, and then add another small scoop of cookie dough; doesn’t pressing down this small scoop of cookie dough make the melted white chocolate ooze up and out?
You may know this, but I shared it in my collection of 37 White Chocolate Recipes to try http://kristendukephotography.com/37-delicious-white-chocolate-recipes/#comments
