Sunday nights are typically spent with family around the table. Make something special with this collection of delicious Sunday dinner ideas!
We Love Family Time
In my family, Sunday is a day of rest from the regular tasks of the week. Along with worship, we like to be together and carve out family time which almost always includes a special dinner. I have gathered some fabulous Sunday dinner ideas to help you do just that!
For Sunday dinner tips & tricks, scroll to the bottom of this post!
Look no further for comforting food to share with friends and family! From tender pot roast to noodles in a creamy sauce, these recipes are the flavor of home and some of our best-loved!
Keep it easy with a one-pot meal or simple ingredients! Recipes like Easy Baked Salmon topped with fresh herbs or Easy Baked Ziti topped with cheese are not only tasty, but effortless!
For even more options, try our Breaded Pork Chops with rice or ground beef Spaghetti with a side salad. Every Sunday dinner is sure to be a culinary adventure with so many delicious recipes to choose from.
Time. Sundays usually allow time for more involved recipes, however, you can still choose to make quick and easy meals that are just as delicious. Many recipes (like slow cooker meals) can be prepped the day before to get a jump start on cooking the next day.
Formal vs. casual. Make serving the meal as formal or as casual as you wish. I had one grandma who would set the adult table with a white tablecloth and her china and serve dinner family style. My other grandma was more casual. The food was served buffet style using paper plates and we sat anywhere that was open.
Get everyone involved. In my family, the one who hosts provides the main dish, while everyone else brings a side dish.
After-dinner activities. Chatting is my preferred activity, but it’s nice to have other activities available. Outdoor activities like bocce ball and croquet are fun. You can also have board games and coloring books inside.
Clean up. If hosting Sunday dinner for the same family and friends is a regular occurrence, consider implementing a clean-up plan. At my mom’s house, the sisters make the food, and our spouses clean up. Win-Win.
Timeframe. Since most adults and children need to be up early for work and school, itโs acceptable to give guests a start and end time.
My name is Kristyn and Iโm the mom of SIX stinkinโ cute kids and the wife to my smokinโ hot hubby, Lo. My momโs maiden name is Luna, and Iโm one of the many crafty โLilโ Lunasโ in the fam. On this site I like to share all things creative - from recipes to home decor to gifts and home decor ideas. Welcome!
