Not too long ago the kids had asked me if they could make Rice Krispies Treats. We ALWAYS have the ingredients to make these quick and yummy goodies, but this time I realized I was short on Rice Krispies. No worries, I thought. We’ll just add another cereal. The kids thought Trix would be a great addition, so that’s what we did to come up with these Rice Krispies and Trix Treats. The kids LOVED them! They also decided that’s how we should make them every time. They tunred out so fun and colorful I thought I’d snap a few pictures and share with you guys this quick but delish kids treat that could be whipped up in minute.
- 4 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
- 2 cups Trix Cereal
- 1 package marshmallows
- 3 TB margarine or butter
- Gather your supplies.
- Put your marshmallows and butter/margarine in a microwave-safe bowl (I like to microwave my marshmallows because it’s easier). I stick them in for a few minutes or until they start to get big and almost touch the top of the microwave. Take them out, stir well and add your cereal. Mix well.
- Press into a well greased 9×9. I wanted mine more thick so I used a 9×9 (8×8 would work as well and 9×13 for thinner treats).
I LOVE how fun and bright they are!
I think your kids will LOVE them too! Not only are they more colorful, but they taste great! And the best part of all is that it literally only takes minutes to make.
