Belgian waffles are made with a very deep waffle maker and call for different ingredients. Buttermilk waffles are a classic recipe that can be made in any waffle maker!
Here is the recipe:
55+ Mother’s Day Brunch Ideas
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups buttermilk
- ⅓ cup butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Then whisk together buttermilk and butter in another medium bowl. Add eggs in, and stir until combined.
- Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients and whisk until just combined, fold in vanilla. (there were still lumps). Let batter rest for 10 minutes.
- Preheat waffle iron, then grease. Pour about ⅓-½ cup of batter into the waffle iron (or until batter reached about ½ inch to the edge of the iron). Cook until light brown. Top with syrup or other favorite toppings like berries or whip cream.
