Why We Love It!

Whether you are searching for fun Halloween dinner ideas to enjoy before you head out trick or treating, or are hosting a large Halloween party, these recipes will help provide a festive and yummy spread.

Here’s why we think you’ll love them:

  • WHOLE MENU. We’ve got appetizers, dinner, sides, desserts and drinks! Create your whole menu with this 1 list for your October party.
  • SIMPLE. All of the recipes on this list are easy and most are very quick.
  • FESTIVE. If they’re not already festive, most of these Halloween classics can be dolled up to fit your ghoulish get together.

Our favs are: Mummy Dogs, Halloween Pizza and others like wings and chili.

party Planning Tips

Use these tips when planning your Halloween themed dinner to make sure you have enough tasty food for all ghosts and goblins!

  • Appetizers. Plan to serve 3-5 appetizers per person. If you only have 5-10 people coming, plan to serve 1-2 different appetizer dishes. Add another appetizer dish for every 5-8 people in attendance.
  • Sides. I always plan to have two sides, for any number of guests less than 10. For every 5-8 more guests, I’ll add another type of side dish.
  • Beverages. A serving is typically 6-8 ounces. Plan for guests to have 2 servings in the first hour, and only 1 serving for every hour after.
  • Desserts. If serving only one type of dessert, most people will have 1-2 servings. When you provide several dessert options, the serving sizes tend to be a little smaller. In this case, plan for guests to have 2-3 total servings.

Halloween Dinner Tips & Ideas

Any dinner can be made into a Halloween dinner, just use these spooky tips!

  • Be creative. Any dish can be turned into Halloween themed by using fun ingredients or even festive platters, bowls or plates (even spiders or eyeballs).
  • Add a touch of spooky. Another fun way to dress up a dish is to “garnish” with Halloween toys.
  • Dress up the table. Add Halloween characters to the dinner by decorating the table with themed plates, cups, and serving dishes.
  • Wear costumes. Invite guests to wear costumes! Have a theme to follow, give awards for different categories, or even lead a costume parade.
  • Beverages. One of my very favorite ways to serve Halloween drinks is to make them smoky, using dry ice.

75+ Halloween Dinner Ideas

By: Lil’ Luna
A collection of the best Halloween dinner, appetizer, side, drink and dessert ideas to help you plan the most festive and spooky party ever!
Servings: 16
Prep: 15 minutes
Cook: 10 minutes
Rest the Dough: 45 minutes
Total: 1 hour 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water 110–115°F
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons rapid rise yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 ¼ – 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cornmeal
  • olive oil for brushing
  • 1 – 2 cups pizza sauce
  • 4 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup olives

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine water, yeast, and sugar and let it sit for 5 minutes, or until bubbly.
  • Add salt and oil, then mix in flour 1 cup at a time with a wooden spoon until combined and the dough is soft and slightly sticky. Knead for about 3 minutes (dough will be sticky and will stick to your hands).
  • Cover the dough with a tea towel and let rise at room temperature for 30–45 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 450°F. Place a pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven to preheat as well.
  • Prepare sauce by heating all ingredients in a saucepan and bringing it to a simmer, but do not let boil.
  • This dough makes TWO 12-inch pizza crusts. Divide dough into two pieces and roll each out onto a floured surface to about ½ inch thick. Cut a little pumpkin stem on top.
  • Sprinkle cornmeal onto a pizza peel and, working with one crust at a time, transfer the rolled-out dough to the peel. Brush with olive oil and poke with a fork a few times.
  • Use the peel to transfer the crust to the preheated pizza stone and blind bake for 6–8 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, add sauce, cheese, and arrange pepperoni to form a pumpkin face. Bake for 8–10 more minutes.
