Grill. Apply a marinade, rub of spices, or a little salt and black pepper. This is perfect for everything from chicken thighs to drumsticks and several pieces can be cooked at the same time.
Stir fry. Perfect for smaller cuts of chicken like cubes and thinly sliced cutlets. Chicken Stir Fry is quick and easy. Add different sauces and vegetables to make a meal that can be served over rice and noodles using just one pan or skillet.
Fry. Especially drumsticks, thighs, and chicken breasts. Coat in a breading of flour like our Buttermilk Fried Chicken for a tasty, crunchy result. Use oil with a high smoking point like vegetable oil, canola oil, peanut oil, avocado oil, lard, or olive oil labeled suitable for frying.
Bake or roast. This is a great way to cook a whole chicken or larger chicken breasts. Keep the seasoning simple or spice it up.
How to Keep Chicken Moist?
Parchment paper. Place a piece of parchment paper over the chicken when you cook it in the oven. It helps keep in moisture.
Pound it. Pounding your chicken to an even thickness with a meat mallet will help it cook evenly.
Butterfly the breast. Splitting the chicken breast horizontally through the thickest part and opening it like a book helps get an even cook.
Add moisture. Marinate, brine, or braise.
Don’t overcook. Chicken is done when the internal temp on a meat thermometer is 165°F. A good indicator is that the juices run clear and the center is no longer pink.
Meal Prep and Storing?
Make ahead of time and freeze. Cook shredded chicken in bulk and store it in the freezer. This makes meal prep go even quicker.
Store leftovers. Generally, leftover chicken can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days or in the freezer for 3-4 months.
